According to Sumit Vohra, admissionsnursery.com founder, the DG parents have an advantage as they can apply in both general and EWS category.
New Delhi: Parents under the disadvantaged group (DG), seeking nursery admission in the national capital, seem to be in a dilemma due to the situation of applying in both the general and EWS/DG category. After a long wait, the first EWS/DG list will be released on March 21, as posted by the DoE on its website.
According to Sumit Vohra, admissionsnursery.com founder, the DG parents have an advantage as they can apply in both general and EWS category. However, this time they are in a catch-22 situation.
“The parents of candidates, who are selected in the second list on March 17, have been given two-three days to complete the formalities. If they wait for the EWS results, they would lose the confirmed seat in the ‘general paid category.’ This time it is a very tough competition as against 30k vacancies in EWS/DG, more than 1 lakh applications have been received,” Mr Vohra said, adding, “Also, there is no guarantee of getting admission in the said category as it is a computerised lottery.”
On the other hand, many DG parents even complained that some schools are giving admission on a no-refund policy in the general category.
“My child has got through the general category and I have even applied under the EWS category. So, now I am in a mental trauma. If I get through EWS but pay the fees for the general category, then the school will not refund the fees. The DoE should have displayed the list for both the categories together to avoid such situations for us,” said a parent, Manoj Kumar.
As per the Right to Education Act, the general and EWS/DG admission list has to be displayed on the same date.
“Due to the litigation between the private schools and DoE, the original date of EWS results got postponed whereas EWS/DG was not even in the picture. The litigation was for the rest of the 75 per cent general open seats. Since some schools are following a no-refund policy, so the DG candidates are suffering, especially those who blocked seats in the first list and the parents who now got selected in the second list,” Mr Vohra said.
DG parents have an advantage as they can apply in both general and EWS/DG category.
Very few seats in few schools for spl children with needs which are also covered in DG
n only 5-10 % results they get in ews quota as more than 90-95% are EWS applicant (under 1 lac yearly income)
Here we are talking of only DISADVANTAGE GROUP PARERNTS
So Schools having spl educataros ,Parents with spl needs apply in those in EWS/DG cat application
Also i agree not every school has spl educators
list given below
It started only 2-3 years back ,new schools not much reviews
You can talk to parents
Or go for Global Genesis/Pathways /TSMS/GIIS/DPS Sec 132 n few more on noida expressway
What ????. I have applied only in EWS category and not in general category in any of the schools because many schools informed me that if you apply in EWS category and in general category both, then your registration may get cancelled and you will not get any seat in either of the category.
Due to this notion, I chose to apply only under EWS category and not for general category, but now Mr. Vohra said that parents have advantage of securing seats in both the categories...
How come it can be possible.. Please clarify..
EWS having income of less than 1 lac year can apply in EWS only
Parents of sc/st has no income bar so the can apply in both as per DOE
OBC till yearly income of 6 lacs can apply in both and Other DG group with spl children etc
Pls see its is on tool bar and shared with parents many times
Thats why Mr Sumit Vohra highlighted after getting complaints from parents who have to submit fees by 21 or 22 Mar in DG group
