Hi All,

My ward has secured  a seat in Modern convent school. Please give me the feedback about this school.

What are positive points about this school for nursery?

What are negative points about this school?

Is it better than R.D. Rajpal dwarka?

Thanks for help

From whatever analysis I have done and feedback from parents, Modern Convent is much better than R D Rajpal. Teachers in Modern convent are quite good and satisfied. Academics wise it is very good. Nothing much heard about R D Rajpal.

My wife was teacher in Modern convent for 6 months (class 2) around 5 yrs back. THen they never use to pay most teachers the actual salary. Sign was taken in 12k slips and paid 5 k in cash. THis led to most good/qualified teachers never staying for long due to obvious reasons. Seems the situation has changed now.

Really? Most of the Schools in Dwarka follow the same trend. Actually permanent teachers are to be paid according to Sixth Pay Scale. But schools just appoint teachers and renew the contract each year. How can we expect a 100% effort from teachers who are paid in pennies? Same this happened in NK Bagrodia too and now  this problem has solved. Another schools is Delhi International promised 10K and paid 5K and that too not regular.

This is horrifying to read. I have been a faculty myself and come from a background of educators and have never heard of such treatment. This is completely callous attitude of schools towards education and that also when they are making big claims of following innovative methods.
All this sounds like Dwarka has become a hub of fleecing parents and flouting norms in every sense. Is DOE sleeping? How come this has not been noticed yet?

Modern convent is good in academics and you can see they have sports activities and competitions throughout the year. As per the parents whose children study there are very satisfied. At nursery level Montessori method is followed and Educomp too is there. Fees is very less compared to other schools. I personally know the passed out students who studied there who are well placed with international jobs.

Few Parents do complain that children talk very indecently.

Academics wise Modern convent is better than RD Rajpal.

RD Rajpal has better infrastructure and good greenary environment.

You can block your seat in Modern if academics is your main concern.

@Latha
Mam, my child has got listed only in Modern Convent. VIS, indraprastha, ITL all are admitting under the table as I read from the discussions. I am completely opposed to that, nor can I pay a hefty amount. Also, a seat is blocked in Presidium for my child. I am looking for a holistic approach to education. I am completely confused. What are the chances, my child might be listed in Bal Bharati? When are the expected results? What should I do?
How is Presidium? Leave apart the money minting and advertising calls, these I am aware of. Parents with wards in Presidium seem to be Happy. But is it good in terms of senior schooling too? Please advise.

I think I have already replied about Presidium in your thread.

New senior school branch is opened in Sec 22. GD Goenka is good if your focus is only on holistic approach.

Hi juhi,

Read your response, even I am in the same situation as my child has not been listed in any of the schools applied so far. He is going to mother's pride dwarka and am very happy with his progress and overall development. However, even i had heard mixed reviews about presidium and have only one option of 'presidium' left in the end if my child's name does not come out in any of the schools applied. I have applied to a total of 23 schools including presidium but not seeing any hope of getting shortlisted in a good school with such a point system where preference is only given to siblings, alumni and transfer cases. Seems like having a first born boy child and admitting him into a good school has become next to impossible.

Although upon communicating with the teachers and other parents, have gotten good review about presidium. Not very sure about the senior schooling as they do not have classes upto senior level in Dwarka. The sec-22 branch is only uptill class II.

The presidium ashok vihar branch is till class X and is considered to be a good school. So, lets keep our fingers crossed and wait for other schools lists to be out.

Regards,

Binny

Thank you Binny!!
i so agree. There are such mixed reviews about Presidium, that one is always worried. Though I know a few parents whose kids are in Presidium and are happy. But issue remains, whether they are competent in senior classes too? How are students from senior classes faring in Ashok Vihar? I do know that the teachers at Pre-nursery are not really the qualified ones, given the fact that one of the teachers of my son joined as a replacement and is hardly 21 and wouldn't have undergone The Nursery Teachers Training Programme. But it doesn't matter right now. Is the situation same in senior classes.
Also, I have nothing against Sudha Gupta's rhymes, but I do want my son to do Twinkle twinkle, humpty dumpty, hickory dickory, even aloo kachaloo bhai, etc. which are not included in their syllabus.
seriously, I am very happy with his main teacher and the way my child is growing. He is more confident today. But my concerns relate to their approach towards kind of teachers. Innovative teaching methods ought to be employed, its necessary, but should we completely denounce what is prerogative. I have interacted with 1-2 presidium teachers, and found their IQ levels to be low, truthfully.
This is where, GD Goenka differs. despite providing 5-star environment, including heated environment during winters, their teachers are qualified. Atleast they were at their first branch in Vasant Kunj. So I am expecting the same level to have been maintained here as well.

Hi Juhi,

i agree with you, even i am not sure of the senior schooling pattern in Presidium, although i did get a chance to view the classroom and interacted with one of the teachers, the teacher student ratio is good, they have smart boards too, although the building is still under construction at Sec-22.

Very tensed and worried whether my child would be able to secure a seat in a good school in dwarka, this remains a question??

All the best to you as I think a good amount of luck is also required in this admission race.

Do tell me if your child gets selected in a school of your choice.

Regards,

Binny

@Binny - surely will let you know. And Good Luck to you too.

@Lathaa

My daughter has been selected in Modern Convent and the last date for fees submission is 2nd Feb. If I block her seat in this school and later on she gets selected in Bal Bharati will I get a refund of the money from Modern Convent?
