My child of grade 2nd is catching fast with his sister's subjects of grade 3rd. My daughter is brilliant too but in some areas of grade 3rd my son of grade 2nd is smarter & faster.
Next year I want to grade skip my son so that he goes to 4th grade next year.
Is there any legal process to follow for grade skipping from 2nd to 4th grade from april 2018 onwards? He will be 7 years old after around a week. Do I need any letter from Deptt of Education or Just I need permission from the school to make a 7 year old sit with at least 8 year old classmates in coming session.
Please suggest the complete process.

A double promotion saves a year but taxes the child. A child doing well in one class may not be as good in the other class (least cases but keeping options open) . This creates unnecessary resentment, pressure and a feeling of inadequacy in the child. All round development of the child is essential and should be considered. It's more effective for children to learn and socialise in their own age group. Many schools in Delhi never entertain for a double promotion in its promotion policy, Even if few schools do it may be for classes Pre-school and KG level.
