Another important criterion for working parents is day care facility. Institutions such as Lotus Valley, Scottish High and DAV Public School provide the facility for little ones.

Raghav Kumar, who works in an IT firm, said, “My wife and I have very tight schedules. We do not reach home before 7pm. We are looking forward to a school with daycare facilities. Our child will be safer in school than at home with a baby sitter.”

Citing a spurt in of criminal activities, parents said schools should be well-equipped with security alarms and CCTV cameras and have GPS locators to track school vehicles.

“In today’s world of evolved technology and increasing crime rates, it is very important for us to take appropriate security measures. We at Ridge Valley School are implementing various security measures to keep the school environment safe and sound for our students,” Guneet Ohri, principal, Ridge Valley, said.

Schools are also understanding the need to introduce better technology and teaching methods. From shifting to phone tablets to introducing smart classrooms and frequent excursions, schools are trying to modify the traditional methods of schooling.

“The school’s curriculum is an amalgam of academics and extra-curricular activities. To impart knowledge, we have special montessori laboratories and an intelligence lab,” a spokesperson of Suncity World School, said.
