How to identify if schools where you have admitted your child is good for him/her?

We often read useful school reviews on AN.com from various parents and moderators. As I have also admitted my child this year in nursery, my query is how do I judge whether school is playing an important role in developing my child and if my chid is really learning something from the school? As parents, we want best education and environment for our child, so suggestions from AN moderators will be really helpful for us.

Rohit

I would like parents to share their inputs.

In my opinion, the overall experience of the child and parents with school (teachers/management/child's response etc) which comes after spending a minimum of one academic session determines if the school is good for your child or not. It is really individual experience and may differ from child to child.

Good query. It's skeptical to find a best fit school for your child. However, while deciding parents should definitely consider if the school is making your child more skillful and accomplished in terms of education and other related activities. It's highly important to pay attention to the child's intuitive, creative skills, leadership skills and social skills. Check out if your child is getting constant guidance and support from teacher and how happy you child return from school, how eager the child awaits each day to school and how your child is motivated. Teachers should be well trained, educated and instill confidence and interest in the child. Ensure your child is living in a fruitful environment. Monitor the child's overall development and the genuine feedback you get from teachers during PTMs. Ensure if activities and utilities of infrastructure are done as promised during admission. Security and transport are other important issues parents should be more concerned.  Any communication between parents, teachers and children should go smooth. A child should not be burdened with academic pressure in any way and ensure child's educational journey should be more cheerful.

Thanks Lathaa for your detailed reply. Much Appreciated. It was really useful to know all these points. I will keep them in my mind throughout the academic journey of my child.
