Nitesh, to me leave aside Vasant Valley, DPS VK, DPS RKP and springdale . I don't know about financial capacities of middle class particularly, but their fee might be ranging from 6-7 thouand per month. Academically and overall development of a child, Only Sanskriti, DPS Dwarka and DPS Mathura Road can compete with them Rest are mediocre
DPS Mathura Road total seats for General Category : 113
Sibling applicants around : 102
Draw of lot sure for 55 points : for around 11 seats
No chance for less than 55 points.
Don't worry last year they had three draw's and still vacant seats
My daughter received only 35 points. No chance.
Sakshi Madam - Why are you or any parent not complaining as it is turning it into a closed system for DPS wherein no outsider can get admission....it will only be siblings and alums....so no new entries in the school from a group that is not already associated with DPS in some form or the other.

NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Education, having failed to inspect all the schools that had applied for recognition in 2013, has extended their provisional recognition by a year. The schools, about 300 of them, were granted provisional recognition till September 30, 2014. The January 5 circular extended it till September 30, 2015.
But that is not the part that has a lawyer-activist group, Social Jurist, riled up. The final paragraph of the circular read, "The said inspection work of all such schools (about 300 cases) has still not been conducted by the district authorities," which the group felt amounts to an amnesty to unrecognized schools. The circular said, "No action will be initiated against unrecognized schools found functioning from academic year 2014-15 onwards i.e. 1-04-2014 under the provisions of (the) RTE Act, 2009, till the said extended period or formulation of further guidelines, if any, whichever is earlier."
Lawyer-activist Khagesh Jha objected to this and read it as permission to anyone and everyone to run unrecognized schools. "The DoE notification puts RTE implementation in reverse gear and it is in direct conflict with Sections 18 and 19 of the Act. The government has no power to permit mushrooming of unrecognized and unauthorized schools that do not fulfil norms and standards," Jha said adding, "The state government cannot dilute or suspend the provisions of a central Act. The present notification amounts to suspension of Section 19 of the RTE Act."
The RTE Act, 2009, does not permit the running of schools that are not recognized by local government. And in Delhi, recognition is contingent on the schools meeting a variety of norms, the most difficult being land norms as defined under Delhi Development Authority's Master Plan, Delhi. The deadline for implementation of the RTE Act had expired on March 31, 2013.
About 300 schools were granted provisional recognition which has now been extended.
"District authorities were to ensure that these schools must fulfil the terms and conditions of provisional recognition and provisions of Delhi School Education Act & Rules, 1973, and Right of Children for Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009," the circular said. Since the officials failed to complete the task in the past year, "The period of provisional recognition in...those schools to whom provisional recognition was granted for primary/elementary level under RTE Act, 2009, up to 31-03-2014, which was again extended up to 30-09-2014, is now further extended up to 30-09-2015." The circular added that the DDEs (deputy directors, education, at the districts) must complete the inspection and that "no further extension shall be granted in the matter."

Hello Sakshi/Latha,
Since most of the schools have finished Registrations for the academic year 2015-16, I wanted to raise a point which will resonate with most the parents here. Parents and kids face a harrowing time every year when admission starts, we know the system is broken, the goverment knows it as well and I am sorry to say that rather than helping the courts have only muddied the waters further.
I know Mr. Vohra has taken this issue up time and again but I think we need to put this issue to end once and for all. My suggestion is lets have the goverment and the school associations sort the matter out and keep the courts out of it. The current system is promoting rent seeking at all levels and we the parents and our kids are the sufferers.
Please let me know if Mr. Vohra thinks it is worth taking up with the authorities.
Sachin
See how many comes forward .
YOU rightly said that each and every entity involved in this whole chaos knows exactly that there is chaos....but government wants to sleep through, schools want to reap through and parents and their children have no option but to just be beggars rather than choosers.
