Springldaes school did not consider jain children for religious minority whereas delhi govt has declared jain religion as minority in delhi. Springdaless had to allott 10 marks on religious minority

hi Nishit, Do you know or have such a list of minorities given stated by Delhi Government? I know of people who by no chance can be minority but appear to be selected on that basis, there is some problem I am sure.

I am also a jain and before filling the form i confirmed from various people that Jain religion has been declared officially as a minority. But Springdales didnt give any points for same.

Points allotted by springdales are far from transparent. Are they not supposed to give breakkup of points like DPS RKP or DPS VK? Sure something behind the scene is going on.

I saw the list of Springdales too. They have several kids who are in minority on the list. Consider that there were 20 points for "Parents View on Education" it possible you did not score there.

Did you provide appropriate documents, eg - some kind of certificate of religion or being a linguistic minority.

I found sprindales much more transparent than others. Atleast they are not biased based on jobs etc.

And yes Jain religion is a religious protected minority. But read the documentation required.

Springdales no where specified any document requirement for minority. Also, i had seen their list of selected candidates last year and they had not given minority marks to any Jain person. Also, this year.. i discussed with a couple of my jain friends who also applied for their kids admission.. and all of us can easily see that we didnt get any points for Jain.

I agree with the view point that Jains should have got points which springdales hasn't given. Also Sprindales provides almost 80% of seats to people who have siblings or are an alumni which is a huge bias against the General category. Its high time schools should look beyond these stupid criterions of siblings.

i think that springdales school has been very transparent in their proceedings... maybe ur views on education did not fetch you the much needed points... i know of several parents who got through the springdales list and there is nothing illegal ....

Thanks for replying and taking interest in this discussion.
The questions on parents view on education were answered. There is no reason to believe that I have received zero marks in the answer. This they are trying to say only to shield themsevlves behind the questions.
Second: What ever is our view they should not deduct any marks for the views. Differenct people will have different views but they cannot take the advantage and deduct marks just to promote their interest. They cannot regualte the admission on the basis of answers provided by the parents on the question on views on education. There cannot be any subjectivey introduced in the admission process. Govt wants full transparancy. Schools are empowered to make admissions but their power is restricted and there should be no subjectivity in admission process. so springdales should have given full marks for all the answeres. They should not exercise their power and regulate the admission as per their vested interest
