Schooling is a very personal thing i feel The philosophy of the school and parents must match. Only then we can be satisfied. Gurgaon has so many schools all with different methodologies. I had chosen GD Goenka for my kids after going through my list of shortlisted schools mainly because i felt their philosophy of a balanced approach towards academic and activities and sports was good. My experience so far has been good and satisfying. They study from text books, which i feel is important(remember the feel of a freshly printed book at the start of session !) But this is balanced with real and practical training through projects, field visits, labs. Even nursery - KG and classes I & II have separate concept rooms - like labs. 

Senior students get a lot of exposure of careers etc. Academics is very strong as their teachers have a lot of experience. Their current batch of 11th has a majority of children who have secured 10 CGPA in 10th. 

as for your question on parents involvement all information is shared on the website that can be accessed through parent login. So we know what is happening and when. Rest, a lot of events like project presentations, special day celebrations, special assemblies keep happening, so we keep visiting the school often.

Also, when you visit the school, you get the real feel. Hope my inputs help you choose the best school for your child
