Folks, I think we are jumping the gun here. I don't think we can ever second guess what any court will do leave alone the SC.

The fact of the matter is technically the SC can do anything/give any ruling so its pointless speculating.

The fact is there was a HC ruling which ruled that all those admitted before Feb 27 DOL will be considered admitted. This has been stayed by the SC and that continues.

Meanwhile, the fate of the transfer cases also hangs in balance.

So though one could assume that those 70 pointers who got selected in the first round are safe, it may or may not be so.

Tomorrow, the DOE has to get the schools' opinion on increasing the seat availability (though I personally doubt that will be enough to solve the current mess).

From my previous experience of covering Supreme Court cases, they are unlikely to give a final verdict tomorrow.

Infact, if SC is not satisfies by what the DOE submits, a verdict could get further delayed because as per today's ''observations" (not ruling) the SC, is dissatisfied with the DOE submission could take its own time to go into the depths of this matter and find a lasting solution.

So, bottomline, I think its going to be a long haul and any verdict is possible. But the only ones who are secure are the alumni and the sibling pointers whenever the stay is lifted.

so lets wait and fingers crossed! 

i agree to the point raised by ankush. the alumni points must be scrapped too. but i guess the time to debate is over. we must move the court now.
