it is very disappointing that only Transfer Points are scrapped. Why Alumni points are not scrapped altogether? what is the relevance of these points too.

In APEEJAY SAKET, out of 58 Seats available 29 seats have been occupied by sibling. for rest of seats, the effect of Alumni is so much that only 5 seats are left for 70 pointers who are 2864 in nos. and 24 seats has been occupied straightforward by Alumni without any draw.

this is going to be same every where in every school. where will our kids go for educations?

this is not acceptable at all. Why so much biasing in selection process.

we should go to the Court again for right point system. so that every one get right opportunity of admission.

my mob. no. is 9418475096 if any one agree with me lets form a group and go to court for equal opportunity to our kids too.

Director DOE

Subject: Plea for Justice and Equality of Delhi Residents in Reference to Nursery Admission
Guidelines 2014-15

Respected Madam,

We the parents and citizens of Delhi are being unfairly treated and not being allowed an equal
and fair opportunity to get admission for our small children in good private schools of the city.
In this context, we wish to bring to your kind notice the Discriminatory nature of “Transfer
Case Points”.

Our SPECIFIC arguments to prove that this criterion is completely WRONG and UNJUST are:

1. Transfer case applicants need support ONLY in the MIDDLE of a session, NOT at this
entry point of admission. There is NO reason why Transfer Point Criterion should be
there at this time.
2. Transfer case applicants are applying WITH Location points. This means they are
present residents of Delhi and so they should apply like any of the other general
candidate in the 8 km radius. There is NO Justification for this, and it is completely
Discriminatory in nature and depriving the other residents of Delhi of a fair chance.

All we ask for is a FAIR and EQUAL Chance for ALL. Our Plea for this is as below:

1. SCRAP the Transfer Case Criterion – thereby removing Discrimination
2. Hold a RE-DRAW of ALL ELIGIBLE Candidates with the New TOTALS – thereby giving a
Fair Chance
A. Move the 5 points from Transfer Cases to 5 Points for First Child (this will help many 70
Pointers/ First child parents as well)

A formal plea letter has also been submitted to the office of the Honorable Lt. Governor (on
18th February 2014). What now remains is the Will to make this change.

Some possible points of your concern and our responses are as below:

CONCERN

OUR RESPONSE

Guidelines are signed
off by the office of Lt.
Governor

We have seen the Honorable Lt. Governor taking just and right
decisions, even if it is a difficult one. We are sure if he sees the merit
in above, he will act.

It is too late to make the
change

It is NOT too late…the final lists are still due on 28th; Also, it is
Nursery Admissions…a delay of a few days should not matter at all.

Draws have already
happened

The effort to do a re-draw is miniscule (at max 2-3 days); however
the benefit to lakhs of Parents to be given a FAIR chance is HUGE.

CONCERN

OUR RESPONSE

Further there is no requirement of a new application; Only a re-tally
and a redraw is required which is not such a big task for the schools,
especially now that all the data is in computers.

We will need to take a
legal opinion

The Transfer Point logic in its present form is
DISCRIMINATORY…Legal should support this cause as it is the RIGHT
thing to do to ensure justice to all.

Is there any other side
of the argument?

There is NO other side plea…In this fight over many weeks, there has
not been a SINGLE Instance of someone coming up and defending
the criterion. Also, Informally, even the schools support this plea.

Inequitable and discriminatory impact of the Transfer point criterion was only realized by
innocent parents when they saw that even after applying to multiple schools, they stood no
chance of an admission as huge number of seats (~35% of those selected, and ~60% of those in
Waitlist in 4 Delhi schools we analyzed were Transfer Cases) were unfairly taken away by the
transfer category applicants.

In this regard, it will be a huge justice to the cause if you can PLEASE release a favorable order
today.

As we go home every day and look into the eyes of our beloved children, we cry our hearts out
to not being able to give them a fair chance for their future, in a country where the national
motto states “Satyamev Jayate”.

An Aggrieved Parent

it seems  we have no right to get our kids admitted in good schools. about 50%-60% admission is for siblings, in some cases it is even more than that, then alumni, then transfer and staff. general category is in dilemma as only few seat% is for them only  on which thousands of candidates are there. .

agree with Mr Rajesh that it should be for central govt only

What will happen for parents with 70 points only...   Unfortunate to say that i don't see any possibility of admission.

Almost every school not going to display list for 70 points kids. Seats will be fulfilled with 75 points candidates.

Comment by RAJESH MALHOTRA on February 18, 2014 at 1:12pm

Inter state transfer case guideline set by DOE in totality should be applicable for central government officers children only whose parents transfer orders announced by Government organisations and got transferred in defined duration and for rest must get ruled out, hence there should be a re-draw in listed schools for children claiming points in actual
