As mentioned by Aarun Kumar Jalua in his post, the education department has submitted data which showed majority of children admitted in the first draw of lots belonged to 70 pointers. On the other hand the reality is  the 70 pointers did not get the oppurtunity for lottery in the first draw. On the basis of this report HC may take a decision on 2nd April which will be grossly wrong. Hope Sakshi and Mr Vohra look into the matter.

@ Anamika - what data is showing cannot be doubted and it clearly throws up the reality. the issue is that parents filled up forms only in top 20 schools and expected that their ward should be selected or the system is flawed. Every parent would have gone for the schools you must have applied so its a fair deal. why parents are challenging everything now  - only after realizing that they don't have a seat and want to support that we run the process again and again till the time the ward does not get the seat. please remember your loss is someone's gain and vice versa. Lawyers did a fantastic job to put arguments in PIL so that they are accepted, so the others followed and now basis data it will be highlighted what is fair and what is not. the very fact is that IST points were announced by Govt. so they leveraged it. they became a punching bag as 70 pointers dint make it but now even siblings and alumni are being targeted. best way to move forward is to accept what has happened and lessons learned but data cannot be challenged. emotions and practicality should be kept separate.

I really dont know how come anyone says that there is a huge opportunity for 70 pointers. I am in South Delhi and have filled up 18 forms for my boy. Most schools the draw was not held for 70 pointers even after removal of transfer cases. Some after removal of transfer cases and filling them with alumni wherever the draw was held it had a average ratio of 1 seat per 200 kids with 70 points. we didnt file any PIL but are patiently waiting for the process to start like others here. atleast once the process start maybe in the second or third list there can be some hope for my boy. However, it still hurts when other parents think that 70 pointers have a huge opportunity.

I ask a question to you all Forum Member the real public of delhi,

I need a opinion from you guys the real Public of Delhi  about a small group of around 10 parents (Non-Domicile of Delhi) who are responsible for the Main 2 Pills the First PIL (That Started all this) that was against Transfer Points, And the 2nd PIL that is against scrapping of Alumni & Sibling points (The one that is currently going on in court) - What do you (The Public of Delhi) think are these 10 Parents HEROS in the eyes of Delhi Public?

The DOE does not care about categorization of schools, we are the ones who categorize or there are differnet surveys that rate schools and some become better than the other or become 1-10 or 1-15 in rating. The DOE and the HC should see the total numbers of seats available and what are being filled by sibling and Alumni, and thye data itself says that there is a huge oppurtunity open for 70 pointers, let the things progress...............

no one is calling them "top 10-15 schools". I think the lawyers are trying to present an overall picture by restricting their pitch to a select schools. But the argument does not hold because it can be easily countered by a more comprehensive data set. The term "top" school hasn't been discussed in the court because it does not have any justificaition
