What is selection cretaria of Amity Vasundara and APJ Noida. On which basis they select the candidates.
hi Amity schools noida & vasundhara have similar criteria..
as you would have seen there are 2 interactions here..1st a questionnaire filled by parents (definitely they would be checking the general aptitude of parents...which may help in longer end)..alongwith child's interaction if they go for it..in 2nd one they interact personally with parents...
Apeejay also have criteria with slight modification...in 1st phase: child interaction in same room when parents are being interviewed by some sr.faculty...and then in 2nd interaction parents are interviewed by the principal or headmistress or someone from the management.
Both the schools have reputed brands and definitely they stress for the best amongst all options available at their end.
my sincere advice will be not to stress your child or urself too much...just have thie child at ease before & during interaction of any good school...feel confident..and give your best shot by focussing on the unique positive points of your kid and yourselves.
as per my personal experience we were helped alot from the discussions in this forum and this year i've seen parents are much more aware before filing for any school.
Pls note that there is no sure shot specific parameters on which one is selected or one not...its just the performance on that specific day that matters most..
(P.S.-i shall request other experienced parents of this forum to add and give their inputs too..as we are not experts..we are just similar parents as others are..but helping each others to avaoid the hurdles we had gone through last year..)
Dear Mr. bij ,

I think this not the critera followed by school but is a procedure of the school for admissions. There are several parents, who got very good response in interaction and their children are also bright but they did'nt got the addmission. Do they know the basis of their rejection or what critera is follwed by schools to select students. Basic thing is lack of transparency in admission criteria. Parents don't know the critera adopted by schools, if schools clear their critera for admissions, whether its point system (then what are the basis of points) or any other system they adopt, then lot of pain, agony and deppression can be removed.

Schools should mention their critera in prospectus itself. Parents should know if its worth to spend their time and energy trying in the school. I checked the website of hillwoods Academy school , their list of selected candidates displayed on website clearly mentioned the points got by each students according to their critera. Its really good and transparent. I think all the school should be transparent to people, who apply for their kid with so much of hope.
Hi Sunil..sorry to reply so late..yes you are right that its the lack of transparency on behalf of Noida schools that criteria of getting selected is not clear...i wish that they could have adopted Ganguly committee recommendations in letter & sprits..and follow a point system criteria where we parents know in advance that are we eligible or not for this school..in such way there would not have been so much confusion & chaos around admission process for reputed schools...but then some private schools think that its' their prerogative that they first want so many applicants for their limited seats (in many case admission form has a price) and then select a few...and worse not disclosing why even after having good interaction..some bright kids are not selected.....
..this irony & uncertainty has made Nursery admissions so tough as it seems today..
Bal bharti has mentioned points criteria in their prospectus like distance, parents education etc

it was lot help mr.bij...thanx .just tell me all this information u gave is from ur last year experience na!!

APJ Noida - in my opinion they do not prefer applicants from places outside Noida (for example, Indirapuram). might be to give advantage to those styaing in Noida. In several cases, they did not even check original docuemnts that were mandatory to be carried for first round of interaction - so not know what was the purpose to ask for it
You may be right Ajay..as schools prefer nearby students...but they must inform this criteria beforehand, that till what distance will they accept?
my colleague's child from indirapuram got selected in the first list
Hi Even after a bright first interaction and our distance is only 5 km from the school we were not in the first list.

Garima

i second you Ajay, even i faced the same thing. i came to know from ppl in my area(preet Vihar) that they dont take kinds from this area they prefer kids from Noida.

one more thing i want to bring into your notice that all school in nodia give preference to the profession of the  parents. like one of my friend husband is IIM so his son got thru all the school where they have apllied in school like APJ,Amity, DPS, somerville, Cambridge school...etc other top school in noida. she share with me that at time of interaction in many school teacher where just talking to my husband (bcz he is IIM) and they didnt even asked her(mother of child, she is all to post graduate) single question.

so we can guess there way of selecting kids.

thanks

Hi,
We have secured admission in Amity, Noida for our kid and have to deposit fees by 24th. However, I have already deposited fees in Lotus Valley earlier but now with we getting admission in Amity is thinking should we go for it. Please advise on which school is better amongst the two.

Thanks,

Anjali
