hi divya, sakshi, angel, Jitin,

wht r the chances of getting through after getting shortlisted in SPV?

Sonia

Cannot say but  among mostsought after schools

if you are in Gujrati quota  chances are more

no sakshi...i m not in gujarati quota

Shortlisting is nice but surety of name coming is not there. You have chances 50:50.

I wish you all the best.

 Sonia

Its like DPS /Vasant Valley .. among top 5-10 schools in delhi . I pray for your success .

300 people were called...but how many seats ???

Frank anthony is best in any of particulars whether studies or extra cirriculu. Or teacher student relation

frank anthony had a case which was much hyped by media, where the class teacher burnt the hand of the child with burning cigarette and the principal personally apologized to the parents

SPV teaches Englishes as a core subject but their other subjects like maths / science and social studies (as inferred from their website) are taught in hindi. They use english words for technical terms so that later children can relate.
But my concern is, what if somebody's mother tongue is not hindi and they are more comfortable understanding things in english? Also, what if a child has to move to another state, say maybe Gujarat where there might not be any hindi medium schools (only english and guarati medium). I really am not able to understand why it is so sought after.

Hi Divya,

I've pursued my 11th and 12th from SPV and I can vouch for the quality of education and overall development of students studying there. I, in fact, underwent complete personality change in the two years that i was there.

I've seen students of primary section (going home in the afternoon) conversing with their parents in fluent english. The reason that SPV is sought after is the methodology of teaching, the environment provided to the students and the righteousness with which the school affairs are managed.

Congratulations to all the parents whose kids made it to the admission list of SPV!!!!!!!!!!

"But my concern is, what if somebody's mother tongue is not hindi and they are more comfortable understanding things in english?" = Is SOMEBODY's mother tounge ENGLISH ??? If they can understand English (not a mother toungue), they can easily understand Hindi too, more so as it is spoken by everyone around.

You can always choose not to apply to SPV.

@Ruchika. Point taken. I was just curious so i asked. Good to get first hand experience.
@ Sunil. You really don't have to be nasty. I know many south indians who are more comfortable with English than hindi. Since I have studied in delhi as well as gujarat, i know how difficult it is to adjust to other languages. No matter how much one supports hindi, it cannot be denied that english is a more universal language.
