Santa Maria believes children are too young at 5+ to go to 1st. So they follow a sept cut off so that children go to 1st when they are at least 5.5+. According to them the older the kids are when they go to 1st the better they cope with studies and various interactions. They also quote that it is only in Delhi that 5+ is 1st. All other states in India it is apparently 6+. Many other countries also it is 6+ and even 7+ in scandinavian countries.
Personally I put my daughters who are Feb born in Gyan Bharati. I didnt want them to lose a year at this stage compared to their peers. But it all depends on which month your kid is born. If they are April to Sept born this school and its age criteria may be best for you. They will actually be ahead of their peers in other schools.
Also several parents actually want their kids to go later to school, those who may be Jan-March born especially.
and no doubt santa maria is a great school. They take great care of kids and make sure they have an enjoyable time. They even have a mini zoo in school. They try to make the schooling period a memorable time for the kids.
Thanks Venkat. My child is April born.
So they have KG and then 1st or after KG they have prep as well.
Perfect for April born kids. In other schools your kid would have been the eldest in class (which may be an advantage). But at this school they will not be the eldest as their cut off date is Sept.
Yes they have Nursery, KG and Prep. Three years before going to 1st. But their cut off date is Sept unlike other schools where it is March. April born kids will be at an advantage in this school as they will be 1 yr ahead compared to other schools.
give a white paper application at the gate in EOK and RKP.
venkat ....shall i do emails as well? will that help
yes try, you dont have much time. I think March 31st is the cut off date. But keep trying. If not this year at least next year. I know they do budge to persistence.
Same here i have also mailed several times but no use
