WHAT SHOULD BE THE PROCESS FOR NURSERY ADMISSIONS IN DELHI AND NCR--- POINT SYSTEM, DRAW OF LOTS ,SCREENING or SOMETHING ELSE, ALSO WHAT SHOULD BE THE AGE CRITERIA ?GIVE YOUR OPINION
What are your views on this new Draw of lots Process ?
What could be the Nursery Admission Process acceptable to all ?
We would like your opinion to raise this issue to higher level we feel that it is the parents community who should also be the part of decision making process !!

Hi, I feel that the lottery process would result in a lot of deals under the table. We should have points system with emphasis on the distance, parents education and should be uniform. Alumni points should be removed. We should also have the minority school take about the criteria as it divides the society.

When there is a 1:30 ratio of seat to applicant, as say the school has 150 seats, they have to interview 4500 kids !!
Is that humanly possible? NO.
Then it comes to having certain criteria for selection. Then why not lottery?

I think its a fairly good system. In fact, I find it better than any interaction system in which i am not aware of the shortlisting or the selection criteria. In lottery system it is dependent on luck in which everybody has equal chance of getting through. This process is easier for the parents and the school. In my view, this process should be followed by all the schools.

It is a good and fair process...as parents can atleast think of getting their child admitted to good or so called big schools. As also we dont have to go through screening of our annual income and degrees or performance of a two and a half year old kid.
In current process, parents are confused about the criteria on which selection is done so why not draw of lots ?

My daughter has turned 3 in this June and I am already irritated by people asking which school I have decided to put my child in. I keep telling everyone that the ball is not in my court. Let the schools first decide that they want my child in their school, then only i will have a chance to make my choice. And now with the new draw of lots process (even if it is the most transparent process they have come up with), I can only tell them "wherever her luck takes her". Though I have always wanted my child to go to the nearest best school, but the simplicity of choice that we get by deciding for the nearest is drastically complicated by the "best" being added to that. So, I think its already time to start praying to GOD to bless her with GOOD LUCK to get into the "nearest best" school.

I think its quite fair but the lottery process should be fair their shouldn't be any loopholes in this process

Yes I welcome the lot system. Since atleast the kids would be left stress free and people from all fields and community rich or poor, educated or uneducated parents, free from politics, religion will get a opportunity to get admitted by God's wish.
Or else parents may arrange tutions for their kids before going to schools to get prepared for an interview. Even for big job there may be only one round of interview but I feel more than 3 rounds of interview is going on which is meaningless.
I feel the best school is a school who can mould a child who are just clay into multiple intelligent child.

The draw of lots is good method of selection, where each child has an equal oppertunity of being selected.

No doubt this is better way of reducing pressure of rat race........... but hope for fair and transparent process.

Well, any process or system can not make everyone happy. Atleast this is transparent (Thats what it looks like atleast) and though dependant on luck does not depend on other factors . So all in all i am game for this. Butthen Government should take measures that alls chools follow the same methodology and there should be some kind of restriction on parents as well reagrding blocking of seats at more than 1 school.
