vinay, i remember from your earlier posts- you had mentioned somewhere that you had not been selected in second round of FAS noida and interaction round of FAS vaishali...how come you are now selected???

Yes. Then they called during the fee deposit time of FAS Noida that they are giving us the option to admit our kid either in Noida or Vaishali. We opted for Vaishali. It was all verbal(on the basis of this verbal assurance, we let Amity Vasundhara Sector-6 pass) and We were not even invited for Vaishali interaction and now they allocated us a seat in vaishali keeping their words :)

but when FAS, Noida result were out, u mentioned that ur kids has not been selected and dusring interaction Father gave u hint that ur kids will be get admission in FAS, Vaishali.

Yes. FAS Noida result I was not selected besides the clear hint and I was not invited for Vaishali interaction too. I was worried and called them. they took 10 minutes to look into physical form(what I think) and offered us a seat in either in noida or vaishali and we opted out vaishali. they said my name is not in noida result because they were preferring us for vaishali being a local resident but at the same point offered noida, too.

Thanks Sakshi. While we are eager on DPS, it's 15 kms one way from Noida Extension. We will shift there in March, 16. Billabong and GIIS are the only ones that are closer. Also, we don't want our son to go to a school which is too fancy to keep pace with. That's why we are double minded about Billabong. GIIS doesn't even have a proper play ground (a big dissappointment).

Hi Saurav,

Billabong is not fancy at all. It is one of the very good schools of Noida and it is assoicated with Billabog Mumbai branch which is one of the best schools. One of my close friedn daughter is studying there from last 2-3 years and he is very happy with her performance. The only problem is that:-

It is still not affiliated with CBSE and has class till 8th only.

They will be adding each class every year and soon will be afiliated with CBSE board also.

It's fees without transport is almost 40% less than Amity or Apeejay.

I also planned for Billabong only as they have admission throughout the year and you don't have to go all this interview process but I have FAS Noida and Somerville on top of my list.

My kid is not selected in FAS NOIDA after the interaction round. I have inetraction at Somerville tomorrow. If my kid is not selected there as well, I will go for Billabong.

I don't think Billabong is fancy. A colleague's kid goes there. Also, the fees is actually cheaper than Apeejay/Amity, though you have to pay for meals. But all in all, my friend is very happy with Billabong. Facilities wise too, I feel Billabong is better off than GIIS. Academics-wise, they still have to prove themselves just like most of the new age school.
