In my opinion, the age of 3 years is really too young .It has to be at least 3.5 years on 1st April. There should not be a cut-off date .Rather a range of one year i.e.children born 6 months prior and 6 months after the date of the reckoning(e.g.30th September or 31st March) should be eligible for admission.
yes i agree that 3+ is the right age for children to go to school as kids are very inquisitive about learning everything at this ripe age.
Kid in age around 3 are not independent to go to school. They need constant support from their mother. At around 4 years they become somewhat independent to express their need in clear manner and can be sent to school.
Apart from intelligence of a child we should also consider other vital aspects and circumstances a child will face while attending the regular school, such as; communicating with teachers and staff about any inconvenience, sickness, problems or even nature's call etc. Parents understand 'code language' of their smart kid but others are not expected to know that. After 4 years of age an average child starts communicating in a familiar way.

In my opinion 4 years must be the minimum age for a child to attend school.
the age criteria shd be 4years as the kids are very small.they cant eat themselves, no proper toilet training.its not even safe to send them to main school where individual care is not taken.just bcoz some parents are sending their little babies to playschools why shd all the kids suffer.i really want that the age criteria shd be 4
I strongly feel that age for starting formal education should be 4 years. I tend to agree with the parent who are already sending their childs in play school and don't want to repeat play schools as i am rowing in same boat. We started sending our son to play school when he was just 2+ to prepare him for formal education.

However, we think that he is too young to start formal education and can continue another year in play school which has relatively lesser restriction and give him opportunity to explore the creative part of him.

The early decission can reduce perplexity of parents.
age should be 4years on 31st march 2011
it cant be 4 years as on 31st march FYI ....nursery sessions cant go empty in next session just for sake of few parents...kindly go through the forum to see why its not possible....so if your kid is 4 or 4+ by 30th sep 2011 be ready for some hard work..
then who will fill the coming nusery sessions in various schools..can you please explain?? kindly think upon it and then make such requests
should be 4+ i strongly support for the same
I agree kids are intelligent these days. I feel first 3 yrs are very important for bonding with parents and for Infant Education at home since first few years in a child's life is when most rapid brain development occurs and they form key relationship, developing trust and exploring the world around them. After that a child can learn by willingness and challenges but learning never happens due to severe stress. It should be a playing field with enriched experiences. The real enemies are the winters. If all schools take care of kids daily activities like taking care if a child wants to go for toilet, going in a school bus and give all assistance to kids needs, 3+ is a perfect age.
