Alumni Quota Points AGAINST RTE SPIRIT- as per my interpretation - PLS GIVE YOUR VIEWS HERE

Dear Parents

Yesterday i raised this point on delhi aajtak  live show in front of principal springdales  that Alumni point is discrminatory  and she was blank did not have answer

My observations

RTE says you cannot do the profiling of kid on basis of parents education and income

But when we talk of alumni it means the parents is at least educated till 12 grade

so here discrimation is obvious between uneducated parents and educated parents

this suits schools the why this point is kept against RTE spirit

i personaly feel its like adding education poits

THEN WHY EDUCATION POINTS ARE NOT BEING CONSIDERED

PLEASE GIVE YOUR TAKE

Giving high points to alumni is like other form of reservation and is truly discriminatory.Once someone gets a seat in the school it becomes kind of heritage and all the kids in the family have the luxury to join the same school. What kind of logic is that?

Our parents could not afford or get us through one of the best schools but we have turned out to be good professionals with our hard work and today when we have the resources and strong desire to send our child to one of the best schools of delhi we stand such a bleak chance due to all these reservations.

i also agree on this point

Mr Sumit vohra has raised this point to govt in ibn7 /Delhi aajtak National channel today

Agreed. But parents who are alumni of any school will have different opinion. At the end of the day every parents will try to get admission for their kids. Though i am not alumni of any school and my son is first child. I dont know how much problem i will face to get him admitted in a good school.
