Heartiest Congratulations and Thanks for Your Gracious Remarks :)
Hi Sakshi,
I have posted this on the other Somerville group too and posting it here. Pls explain..
All this while, Somerville claims they have a strict distance criteria. If that's the case, how come parents living in Sector 70s are being given admissions? I checked on google maps- sector 77, 76 are more than 5 KM away from any of the Somerville Schools? What the heck is going on?? Pls explain.
Making it clear, I am happy for those parents who have gotten admissions, but there seems to be something amiss.
Nice point if true
Divyanshi
True as earlier no parent confirmed but this year parents staying far than 3 Kms have confirmed getting selected in Somerville Noida

I am not sure but I do believe that DPS & Somerville are front-runners and would be receiving application from mostly all the population for nursery admission. As far the interaction criterion is concerned to me it looks more of a lottery while the distance could be a point while making the final selections.
Just my opinion.
Hi Aditya,
The lottery system at DPS is well-known and is also told to all parents in advance. The process is known so all parents have expectations accordingly. However, Somerville has not advocated lottery system at all, in fact they have been strict about distance, so shouldnt distance be a shortlisting factor? It appears they are blindly going by registration number, in that case, parents who signed up on 15th august (last reg date) would not stand a chance, right?
It should be but it's not happening right ? So it has to be something else, from the form it could be parent's qualification, income or something else. But even that doesn't looks like the case. Then it has to be a lottery right ?
But seems they are calling in a hapazard fashion. I had seen some post from someone whose kid has reg # in 600's something and called for interaction yesterday or 2 days back. So you never know :(
Can you please let me know what is lottery process and criteria for DPS Noida
