Sakshi/Parents, please share your views on comparison of East Delhi schools like Ahlcon Public, DAV Shreshta Vihar etc. to Noida schools like Sommerville, Apeejay etc. .

Dear Sakshi and fellow parents,

Thank you for your inputs on pro and cons of FASN and DPSI. This platform is great. I joined 4 yrs back when I was looking for Nursery admission of my elder kid, was in US during that time and this platform really helped. I didn't unsubscribe even after admission of elder kid in DPSI :-). Thanks to Sakshi, Sumit and Team. Really appreciate !

Choosing between FASN and DPSI: Though fees is high in DPSI and FASN provides more value for Money but I want to keep monetary thing factored out as we all want to choose the best for kid no matter how deep it digs hole in our pocket :-).

As Sakshi and other parents rightly mentioned, distance/commuting time is imp. for small kids and I would really be worried (initially at least) if I send kid to FASN as DPSI is really close. Since DPSI operates out of two different buildings/schools as I mentioned before so having siblings in DPSI doesn't offer that same one school advantage as both will always be in different schools however having known of curriculam, school processes, activities etc. make us more comfortable and inclined towards DPSI. Infrastructure wise, DPSI looks better than FASN. I like whats app group of teacher-parents in DPSI which makes day to day life of mother for interacting with teacher for homework etc. easy. Not sure if FASN is that open. Piyush and other parents also mentioned about not so great academic results of FASN. Also, it may be difficult to move elder kid in FASN as mentioned by Sakshi and other parents.

Considering above, I feel more inclined towards DPSI. However my wife is more inclined towards FASN because of better english speaking environment, lower fees and perception of FASN.

Hopefully, we'll be able to have a consensus with all your help and guidance. Let me know if I am missing any imp. point before making a choice.

Rajesh

All your points are very valid

I personally feel both the siblings should be in same school as Common Curriculum/Culture/ Common holidays which have of of advantages for family ,i mean both parents and children.

Some time also complex comes among siblings if one school is taking children abroad on paid holidays or other siblings boasts of better things in school and other sibling feeling he is missing something or lacking.

Different pickup and drop times also creates problems for parents  rest parents can share their inputs.

Sakshi,

Thanks for your valuable inputs. We have made up our mind for DPSI.

AS FASN and DPSI are comparable in terms of academics, ECC, we wouln't gain much getting son admitted in FASN except lower fees in FASN but may lose on distance/commuting time and other points you mentioned. If I would have to choose between FASN and others like FASV, Amity V-6 etc. then might have gone for FASN definitely. As I experienced in case of my elder son, most of the times kids not ready in morning as per school bus timing (which is early if you stay far) and I had to drop my kid to school, wife had to pick-up kid from school when he got cranky or for sm other reason. DPSI being closed, made our day to day life easy and we felt better that kid is close by and not spending 30-45 min in bus specially during summer.

Few things on DPSI which I don't like, is high admission fees (3-4  times than FASN, qtr fee - almost double) and operating out of two different schools though close by. In FASN, didn't like infrastructure specially classroom, washroom and Audi but liked cleanliness, polite behavior of principal . I believe there are pro and cons for each school.

On another note, I find DPSI admission criteria much transparent and well co-ordinated as compared to FASN. At the time of my elder kid admission, we couldn't get through even in 1st round in FASN (not sure why) while everything remained same. This time we got through and had hardly 2 min. interaction, mostly with us/parents, nothing asked to child except his name. A'way I am happy that we vacating one seat would help some other parents for whom FASN is more appropriate choice because of distance etc.

Thanks Sakhshi once again for all your help. Really appreciate !

Rajesh
