I think No any address proof will work.
Thanks. I will not bother to get one then
It is not mandatory if you have other valid resident proofs
A Domicile/Residence Certificate is generally issued to prove that the person bearing the Certificate is a Domicile/Resident of the Delhi
Documents needed to get one are

AADHAR No.is not compulsory, if AADHAR No. is not available, provide any one of the idendtity proof PAN/PASSPORT/Driving Licence/Voters Card. The name of the applicant on the AADHAR card should match with Name of the Applicant.
Self declaration in prescribed Performa(Self declaration from the major if the children are below the 18 years).
The photograph of the applicant will be captured through web camera at the time of submission of application or at the time of verification. the Photograph of the applicant should match with photo of the applicant on the AADHAR.

Proof of Date of Birth (Birth certificate, School certificate or passport).
Proof of continuous stay in Delhi for the last 3 years, such as Education certificate, Electricity bill, House tax, water bill etc.
Contact No. and copy of I Card of the class I gazetted officer who has attested the form.
IMPORTANT : All documents needs to be attested by Gazetted Officer.
You can approach to the SDM of your area or you can also approach the concerned
O/o the Deputy Commissioner during 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on any working day.
You can also APPLY ONLINE.
Certificate will be issued in 14 days.
So I will not bother to get one in case it is not mandatory
We are staying on rent since last year.
We have Aadhar of child and both parents for this rented address. But some schools are asking for 2 address proofs. I don't have any other proof right now.
My wife has already applied for a Domicile certificate. Schools are saying in their guidelines/ procedure, that they need "Domicile certificate of the child or of his/her parents".
So schools would be satisfied with domicile certificate of my wife? Or they need domicile cert. of both parents ?
It's better to have one since many schools since last year made mandatory.
School specific
.Regarding documentsvalid as proof of address.
Some of indicative documents which can be considered as proof of residence of parent/child;
(a) Ration Card/Smart Card Issued in the name of parents (Mother/Father having name
of child).
(b) Domicile certificate of child or of his/her parents.
(c) Voter I-Card (EPIC) of any of the parents
(d) Electricity bill/MTNL telephone bill/Water bill/Passport in the name of any of the
parents or child.
(e) Aadhaar Card/UlD card issued in the name of any of the parents.
"Domicile certificate of child or of his/her parents" - Does this mean domicile cert. of both parents are needed if domicile cert. of child is not available?
