Basically, if you are approaching school directly and taking admission, it's a management seat. Management seat doesn't mean you pay anything extra apart from the fees to school. If someone has not got into the school of their choice, they should write to school via email/post expressing interest. If they deem suitable, they would call you and admit your child. Some schools also interview the child, I have seen personally.

I approached 5 schools directly for taking admission, and wrote e-mails and personally gave letters to guards at gate. First thing is no school lets a parent whose child not in first/waiting list to go inside and meet anybody. I couldn't get past gate in any school.
Then I phoned all 5 schools everyday, one day two schools picked up, 3 didn't, other day other two picked up.... So I kept trying.
All said on phone that if you have given letter at gate, then we will get back to you in due course. But still I went next day at gate and requested meeting with principal /admission coordinator... Most of guards recognize me by face now.
And today, out of the blue, got call from Apeejay PP for admission.
I'm so delighted, and happy.
Thank you everybody for the immense encouragement and words of wisdom.
Have to deposit 65k draft tomorrow.

Sakshi does there is any fixed fee structure or its vary on year to year. I have seen a range from 20k to 60k for the same pre nursery admission.

There is fixed fee structure but most of the schools increase Tuition Fees by approx 10% every year. ( Some increase more than that).
Now some school take quarterly fees and admission fees at the time of admission.
Some schools took 6 months fees plus admission fees at the time of admission.
Some parents share monthly fees others share quarterly fees, so that might have created the confusion.
This year parents are in boxing me that they are not able to share the fee details as most of schools are not giving complete details.( Some schools are waiting for final verdict but many are charging full fees and not following Hon'HC orders).
As the case has gone to Double Bench of Hon'HC ( Challenged by some NGO''S and DOE vs School lobby) and the final verdict is still awaited as hearing is still going on and due to Covid it got delayed.

Heartiest congratulations !
And its really good to know that the (tried and tested) method is still working. I personally experienced it back in 2016 for my elder daughter, (as I ended up getting calls from 14 schools by the end of the entire exercise in Mar'2016), and therefore, I am suggesting the same to my friends this year as well. What you posted just now, is exactly what also happened to one of my friends today itself, and she too has got a call today from Apeejay PP and Indian (after follow-ups).
Really happy that we have another successful parent here as well :-)

Congratulations Amit!
From what I can gather, you must have taken admission.
Have lots of patience. Others would also call you in due time. Keep a time frame of 2 weeks to receive the calls. I am quite sure, by the end of the exercise, you might be spoilt for choice.
Obviously, you may have to lose some finances if you change school. But at the end of the day, its all worth the effort.
