Sumit Ji,

Pls take action against this....

Not even a single parent has come in front , without the parents support nothing can be done ,as education department says bring the parent complaint

Honestly speaking, can anything really be done about this? I highly doubt it! People complained about the interview process a while back, and what good came out of it? Now all the schools have simply changed the name, and call them "interactions" with the actual process remaining the same!

And at the same time, can we really blame the schools for this? They do need a system to shortlist the applicants, one way or the other - at least they are taking a pseudo-scientific approach towards the process, rather than just picking out names out of a hat!

Prashant , According to  law of the land (RTE) Admissions can not be done on basis of parents qualification/profession/Income and kids cannot be called in school premises before selection for even seeing the class rooms

When all this has been implemented in CAPITAL OF INDIA (DELHI) why not in ncr

where RTE is also equally applicable   also  no fee refund policy,no common admission calender ?

EVEN DELHI HAD INTERVIEWS TILL 2006 -BUT THE PROCESS HAS BEEN CHANGED - EVEN IF IT IS NOT  100% SATISFACTORY

Hmmm... This "law of the land" doesn't sound right to me - if the schools can't base their decisions on the parents' various criterion, and they can't even meet the children before granting admissions, then what exactly are they supposed to base their admission decisions on? Not trying to argue here, but just curious!

It seems you are not very well versed with rules

According to Section.13 of the RTE Act, 2009

“Section 13 (1) No school or person shall, while admitting a child, collect any capitation fee and subject the child or his or her parents or guardian to any screening procedure.

(2) Any school or person, if in contravention of the provision of sub-section (1),-

(a) receives capitation fee, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to ten times the capitation fee charged;

(b) subjects a child to screening procedure, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to twenty-five thousand rupees for the first contravention and fifty thousand rupees for each subsequent contraventions.”

According to Section 2(o) of the RTE Act, 2009

Section 2(o) “screening procedure” means the method of selection for admission of a child, in preference over another, other than a random method;

According to  Clause (b) of Sub-Section (2) of Section.13 of the RTE Act, 2009 such screening procedure is an offence punishable with fine which may extend to twenty five thousand rupees for the first contravention and fifty thousand rupees for each subsequent contravention.
RTE is implemented in Delhi. Admissions are made based on few point systems like neighbourhood points 30 to 40, siblings points 20, alumini points 10 to 20, girl child 5 to 10, first born or only child 5, single parent 5 to 10. Points may vary from school to school. And screening of parents and kids are abolished. Only one or 2 people complained but proof is essential to file a complaint. RTE representatives are there to monitor in UP and Haryana. Even NCPCR can take action if RTE is not followed. But inorderto move further parents support is needed. Last year lot of complaints have been filed against schools with few parents support Mr.Vohra took great efforts and succeeded in all cases.
is it applicable in delhi only or anywhere in india?
ALL OVER INDIA (except J &K) including Noida ,Gurgaon
