These are valid points and need to be addressed appropriately. We are professionals but lack alumni and siblings point which are actually resulting in denial of education to our kids in to our preferred schools. Though we appreciate the steps taken by the policy makers to promote the weaker class / gender etc etc but they should not forget while framing policies that there is one more class of parents who are educated and professionally qualified and does not fall in any of the reserved category then why should they be PENALISED by denying admissions altogether in their preferred schools.

i second you manju ,but even deserving ews people donot get admission , seats are denied to them and school manipulates the seats

so we gen cat people have lost seats but they don;'t reach to  genuine ews

Is there any provision of considering Mr Sumit Vohra's views (on behalf of us) in this meeting?

Last year points to first boy child by many schools were given through his voice in media after  confrontation with  chairman /president  of school association and in one program Mr R C Jain President delhi public schools association confirmed on TV show ..thats points to first boy child were given after Mr Vohra insistance

But School lobby is very strong ..still we are positive on alumni points going down if not abolished

NBT has the highest circulation  hindi newspapers and every top shot reads it and even Mr Lovely (education minister) knows him very well

So It should make some impact ..how much cannt say(He created history last year by protesting outside directorate of education office with 100 parents)

THE MAIN AGENDAOF THE PROTEST  WAS POINTS TO SIBLING / ALUMNI

I appreciate the thoughts of the readers, and do agree with them. But would like to add that there should be transparency in the admission process and also none of the children be denied an interview by the school.

I totally agreed with all the above points:

There should be equal weightage points for first born child and sibling. And there should not be even a single point for Alumni.... No points for Parents Education...

Regarding EWS - We have seen the last year's result-- there were so many seats which were vacant in EWS category and general category parents were begging for the seats. There should be a provision for transfering the vacant EWS seats to General Category.. Arti Jain

Dear Mr Vohra / Sakshi ji

Do you remember last time when we went to meet Mr. Krishnamurty (Director- DOE), he said "aap pahle kyo nahi aaye" So please if possible - Do send him agenda again.. He should know in advance that what is our demand. Remind him to act upon the agenda given last time.

Also we requested for the UNIFORM admission procedure and COMMON FORM for the admission process like universities follows...

Yes arti , he wanted parents to come before results ..but he has been transferred now

It would be well if DOE follow at least these essential points raised by Mr. Vohra since many parents suffered a lot last year. Schools should not be given full autonomy to fix their own point system and DOE should frame uniform point system too. Since Section 2(o) along with Section 13(2)(b) prohibits any of these screening procedures and calls for only random procedures to be used for admitting a child to school, alumini points should be abolished as Mr.Vohra mentioned as it is absolutely a screening procedure handled by the schools with parents. By reducing the sibling points the point system would be definitely balanced. With parents support Mr.Vohra can definitely change the admission process and let us give our full cooperation.

You are absolutely right Lathaa ji..

We have to do some efforts to change the last year point systems before the admission process starts.. We all parents are thankful to Vohra ji to keep the fight continue against the last year's point system. Vohra ji, we all are again with you to support you..

nothing wrong in point system; even we professionals also implement such thing in our field. but, even that point system is not implemented correctly, that is wrong!

alumni/sibling should be merged.

I agree with you Artee that point system is not implemented correctly but how can you merge alumni /sibling points please elaborate
