Dear Narinder
Court has clearly directed that the age criteria has to be finalised before commencent
of common admission procedure ..so even if schools issues guidelines they cannot
mention the min age as case is subjudice also the admission process might get delay but the age has to be decided first .
Dear Mr.Vohra,
Why this delay? Why does our judiciary do everything at the nth hour?
Why can't they smoothly layout a process of transparent school admissions and fair age criteria?
What's your take?
Abhishek
Dear Abhishek
It our Delhi govt and not judiciary who are causing the delay ..had govt given the reply today things would have been solved today only !!
A provision of penalty should be there in such cases so that the Govt can understand the seriousness of the matter.
Indian Judicial process is indeed slow but it CRUSHES really FINE.
In due process of LAW court has to give opportunity to the respondents to file their rejoinders.
It is apparent that NO consensus has been reached between the govt and school lobby on the technical issue of modalities of the transition as both the stake holders stand a huge loss of revenue resultant to age rule change.
In a position where the govt takes a unilateral decision which it will never take ( fir reasons known to all of us ) there is 100% likelyhood of school lobby going for assail the order in SC snd there will be more delay ( as we have seen in petition challeging RTE validity)since SC puts issues under a harder grind and a bigger legal scrutiny.
So if incase of any technicality case is not finalised by 14-31 dec or so we might see a status quo for this session of 2012-13 BUT be sure that rule shall be implemented by next session of 2013-14
whatever it is.....causing by judiciary system or govt....,Dilemma is being created for parents....We have to manage lots of things before getting our child admitted for the first time....and specialy when both the parents are working.....WE really could not set our mind at a fixed direction as my daughter will complete 3 yrs in this march....:(
i empathise dipti ji
I agree with you, it can be like going to market to buy icecream!!
I believe deciding anything different now would trouble the wards and can harm childrens. It is surely creating more confutions, anyways.
Dear Birender
In the PIL filed..... the other proposed valid points are
1 No Bags / Only playway in KG(PREP) curriculum at the age of 4 plus
2 Formal books in 1 st Grade (so not a problem for schools but BIG FINANCIAL LOSS)
Regarding your second point ..the KG will have all the children PROMOTED from nursery who took admission last year ...so very few vacancy in KG !!
Dear Birender
You are spot on very few vacancies.. but some schools( very few) come out with vacancies but still ..it not going to be easy
Rest of the school have hardly 5-10 vacancies ( it can be more or less)
Again all above figures are school specific !!
It was 1:40-45 for nursery for top schools last year !!
