----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

actually sibling maximum points as the parents cannot just cannot afford to go bersek with 2 children in 2 different schools....environments...esp working parents...y dont they see the stark need...
first of all i do not know that whatever rules are there it is only for delhi as no other state follow such rules. secondly delhi itself has so many schools but still it is very difficult to get admission in nursery here. 3-4 months are really hell for parents . myself i am a doctor and i think getting admission in Medical college was much easier than hetting admission in nursery school which is really astonishing. my question is why only in delhi it is difficult to get admissions though the mode of education is nearly same all over india.
regarding alumini points i think there should be no crieteria for alumini and the child of 3 years should be eligible for admissions
Some very good views coming up on this discussion.
Let's not forget we all should unite before the Govt comes up with some guidelines which we do not seem to accept in principal. The court verdict on age criteria is expected tomorrow and the guidelines by govt around a week after that. We should all join in some sort of signature campaign and present our views to all concerned people in the Govt. led by Sumit Vohra Ji.
The Delhi government claimed to be the first state to implement the right to free and compulsory education (RTE) act. It's a model state following guidelines of RTE. But it is not implemented properly. Only 13 states have been notified by RTE Act at present. Each state is framing their own rules and policies. It is an Act and so we have to ensure that it is implemented properly by a proper action plan. Giving point for alumini is just against RTE. RTE Act says that no schools or person can subject the child or his or her parents or guardian to any kind of screening procedure and schools will be punished with fine.
Agreed, Alumni points should be scrapped, the reason could be diverse, ranging from relocated parents to education background of the parents. Like last year, if income and parents education points were seen as bringing in prejudice towards certain applicants, this year Alumni points does the same thing.
Points based on distance, first child, Girl child are all welcomed.
Alumni points should be totally scrapped. I think point system should be based on
a) Distance - (should have some benefit for kids from far places but willing for personal/own transport). There may be some areas where you won't find good schools so kids from that area should be allowed to apply in other areas if they don't want to opt for school transport. This way school should not have any problem
b) Single child/girl child points are welcome but should not be very high.
c) Children with special needs
d) School Management quota should be reduced to Max 10 points. This would restrict them from playing with the rules.
Main factor should be distance and it should constitute 40-50 points.
I agree with you Mr.Mandeep. But Children with special needs and suffering from disability as defined in thr Persons with disabilities Act, 1996 comes in Disadvantage Group under EWS quota i.e 25% free seats. But many schools last year gave points for special needs in general quota.
Hi,
In case of the attested copies, can you please let me know who can attest these copies? Is there a list of officers whose attestation is accepted?
Any gazetted officer holding Class-I post of Delhi Govt./Govt. of India, any Magistrate or Supdt. of Police, Registered Govt Doctors, Bank Managers, All India services, though posted to states; promotees from states to the cadre of Assistant Commissioner and above and to the cadre of All India services ; Police officers of Circle Inspector and above; Additional District Civil surgeons, Executive Engineers and above, District Medical Officer and above, Lt.Col. and above, Principals of Government colleges and above, Readers and above of Universities are a few option you can go for.
i have seen that school staff hardly see who has attested the docx all they look for is some signature with a stamp below :)
BUT STILL TECHNICALLY SPEAKING
The attesting officer should NOT be retired.
Nationalised bank officials are not gazetted officers
Executive Engineers are also NOT gazetted officers, they are only class 1 officers
Circle Inspector of Police is NOT a Class I Gazetted Officer, they are Class 2 Gazetted Officers
All that matters is your confidence in what u say and ur body language :))
Dear Rahul
Sometimes the school mentions the attestation part ( school specific) yes but class 1 gazetted officers attestation are accepted by all !!
Sometimes schools accept Class 2 Gazetted Officers too like Section Officer, BDO, Tahsildar, Junior doctors, Assistant Executive Engineer, Lecturers in Government colleges, Headmaster of Government high schools, Junior Doctors in Government hospitals, 2nd Lieutenant to Major, etc. I accept Nationlised Bank Officers are not gazetted officers but protocol rank exists. So we can take as school specific.
