Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2026-27

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

I would like your comments on this issues. In Europe and America, kids are not allowed to go for study before 3.5 years but in India all it starts at 2 years. It is wise  to send such a tender child to school when child could not develop sufficient immune system. I abstained from sending my child from play school for various reasons including cost also which is not necessary.  I have come to know that at the time of admission in nursery, schools counts on play school points.  Do all the schools play school points criteria. My baby is exceptionally talented and she is grooming well at home in the company of her mother who is house wife.

Kindly suggest me whether I have taken a good decision for not sending my baby to play school.

I really liked the last paragraph as I always believe in imparting knowledge at home. Good things start from home.

yes, doing your homework, before selecting a good playschool is very important. It should have a fine balance of learning, interaction, fun and play. Also in today's times value for money is  important.A higher fee structure doesn't neccesarily translate into a good playschool.....choose wisely, speak to other parents and take a feedback.

I agree with your thoughts....

In my opinion, child must be sent to play school after 2.5 years, so that they start interacting with others and enjoy playing with the peer group. My baby is 2.6 years old and started sending her when she was just 2.1 years. She has become smarter than other kids of the same age.

Thanks for the compliments...........

Lovely Child, God Bless

Thanks for the compliments...........

But why teach them all this at 2, when they anyways will learn these at formal school........

Creche/ payschool is an arrangement that would allow the working parents to go back to their careers and not really a place for learning and growing....

Hi,
I have 2yr11month old. I too believe there's really no need for a play school. I kept my baby home for 2.5yrs n finally gave in to the pressure. Like in Europe and USA a formal school and pressures should only start at 5 yrs. From 3 yrs education should only be about fun and getting to know about your surroundings environment. A child should not start writing before 5 as per a study. It is bad for the development of hands. And this we should worry more about since writing in any case is going obsolete with technology as is the usage of thumb. Every person (read child) learns and grasps everything at their own pace. Look around you, you will see weak students from your class doing pretty well themselves. My reason to send my kid to play school was only to give him company of kids and develop confidence when talking to people other than family. I sincerely believe the education system needs drastic changes what with every student scoring 90%. What happened to understanding basics and a wholesome growth of an individual. Today not every child needs to be MBA engineer doctor CA, but now there are many avenues available for the success mantra to work. Why not make him move towards working for what he enjoys the most his profession and excel in that. Rather than mugging up what we as parentss, teacher's or society wants him to learn. Hope I have clear what I am trying to say.
Thanks

Good thoughts!!! Earning money is not a problem as long as there is dignity of work. When newspaper vendor is looked down upon there is a problem. People who are advocating USA here would know that there is social security and labour dignity there. In India, we have to be one of EDAA - engineer, doctor, advocate, architect etc. etc. I am an MBA and Engineer myself but I don't think my son would be any of these. He is pursuing sports.

@nidhi lall  ji i agree with you but that thing is only for those who had nuclear family, it is not necessary to every one to put his/her kid in play school ,

@sakshi ji is almost correct, and one more thing in today's life nuclear family had no future....... this is my view.
