Oh god....Gurgaon schools confuse you so much ....the more i read and talk to people the more confused i am .....My daughter would be 3 in dec and hence short of 2.5 months of the so called 3.5 yrs cut off....i am not sure if I should try this year for her nursery admisson or wait for next year ....are there any schools which consider 2-3 month of age based on the child interaction and merit...

Also i am looking at a decent school where emphasis is on overall development of the child rather that the show-sha we hear about many schools...please suggest  any such school...

@ Harpreet

You can try for Gurgaon valley too.

@harpreet: my daughter would be 20 days short of 3.5 years on march 2013. I applied to lvis gurgaon and they were considerate while they say 3.5+ as on Mar 2013. You may want to check with them and admissions are still open. I visited the school and met the principal before applying. I was overall impressed with infra.. I dont know what you mean by sho sha but most schools in ggn are ac and with modern architecture. Lot of facilities for extra curr.

We also checked with few of the more sought after schools like Suncity Heritage ans Scottish. I think they get enuf applications to relax age criteria. Suncity PR lady was quite categorical in saying that "20 days is a lot for us " so please try for pre-nursery. So we didnt waste time and got her admitted in lotus valley.

Hi All,

I need some advice on Gurgaon nursery admission- My son is 13 Nov 2009 born and doesn't as such qualify the age criteria for most of the schools that either say 3+ as of September 30th / 3.5+ as of March 31st , falling short by around 6 weeks. I talked to couple of schools like Shiskshantar, SunCity, ShriRam Aravali and they say that they are very strict on the age criteria and don't even consider a day beyond it.

It will be of great help if out of your experience you can let me know which good schools in Gurgaon would be flexible in considering the exception of 6 weeks beyond their age criteria or the schools that have age criteria as 3+ as of March 31st.

You are riding in the same boat as me. My daughter is short by only 20 days. We applied and admitted her to Lotus Valley. I believe admissions are still open. Also i think amity international is 3+ years. Shiv nadar school, ridge valley school, manav rachna international school are also you can consider.

Admissions Open in Gurgaon Valley

Admission at Shikshantar will open in 2nd week of september. I called the school yesterday and they said the process will be online.

Thanks a ton Nitu :)

Totally ridiculous - the admission process at Shikshantar is the most ridiculous among all schools. They take 1000 bucks for the registration form, and then  make both parents come to school to fill a 30 min questionnaire for which they charge another 2500 bucks. And best thing is that questionnaire is not used for selecting or shortlisting. The selection is then done on another day by a lucky draw of all the forms.

@Gautam Thanks a lot ... Lots of .Parents would be benefited
