Nursery Admissions Guidelines 2013-2014 Analysis for parents - FEW POSITIVES

Dear Parents

The schools have been given full autonomy for admission criteria /point system

But parents should know

1- If you see point no 2..it says First List and Waiting  list will come by 15 Feb- This does not mean all schools will come with their 1st list on 15 Feb but schools can come early also with 1st list in last week of JAN 2013 or 1st/2nd week of FEB  but last date of displaying 1st list list+waiting list is 15 Feb .

2  Till last year schools had option to deviate from Common Admission Calendar but as mentioned in point no 3... All the schools have to give forms from 1Jan-15 Jan 2013... As last year many established and sought after schools gave forms only for few days .

3 Please see point no 8 - As we all know schools have to give 25 % quota to EWS . As per notification  dated 28.02.2012 entry level seats (Nursery, KG, 1st) cannot be less than highest number of seats in previous 3 years in entry level classes  . Normally to reduce EWS seats...many schools used to decrease the number of seats at entry level and (Read Nursery /KG) then used to fill the seats in senior classes  but now they cannot do it ..as DOE has asked for the stats from all the schools few months ago. So THIS YEAR THIS MANIPULATION BY REDUCTION OF ENTRY LEVEL SEATS (TOTAL SEATS-GEN+EWS) CANNOT BE DONE BY SCHOOLS (ON PAPER AT LEAST)

REST THESE GUIDELINES ARE IN FAVOUR OF SCHOOLS :(

Dear Mr Bij

When it come to Analysis ...no one can beat you...I would recommend all the parents to go through his analysis regarding nursery seats in Delhi Exclusive Group !!

You are right Sir.

No one can deny Mr.Bij's unprecedented knowledge and responsiblity.

A very good analysis about the few positives in guidelines. Thank you Sir. But DOE still remains as a mute spectator towards admission process neglecting some corrective measures to be taken for a transparent system. Money minting business of schools will have a good restart at their own will. Our forum remains a proof for a lot of disappointments towards the flawed admission criteria. A good space for Alumni and siblings and very little space for other general parents.

 Dear Lathaaji

I concur with you..what about parents with first child and no transfer points.. no saving grace on distance point also ( as expected  they should have mentioned that Distance should be getting the max points) but lets wait and watch....how many points schools give to distance !!

I think genuine Schools might increase 10 points towards neighbourhood taking away that allotted to Special needs which now has been added under Disadvantaged Group.

This can be expected from Mr sumit vohra only Thanks

can u plz suggest in between heritage and bal bharti pitampura which one is a better school.

@Sakshi, Balbhartipp is conventional school but excellent feed back in academics and sports.

Heritage is progressive learning based. if you want academics go for bbpp

I would also add Heritage is excellent in all round development of child. They have close to 10 teachers for art and music!

It is easy to downplay their academics in light of BBPS' longer existence but I can assure you not many schools make their teacher work as hard as Heritage does.

They have system of coordinators and lesson planning which goes a long way in ensuring teachers don't take it easy.

It's a good school. But also heard few parents taking out kids from heritage putting in dps /others. I feel it may be more of holistic approach.

thanks alot mam but can u plz tell dat if i want an overall development of child in academics as well as in extra caricular activities where child becomes intellegent at as time smart then which is the better option. and otherwise also in north delhi area which is the best school for same?

It is a bit of a trade off.

Established schools like BBPS, DPS, Apeejay have long track record of solid academics.

Newer schools like Heritage, Venkateshwara are yet to show such results in studies. But what they boast of are much better focus and facilities for all round development of child.
