January is near and so I'm sure parents must be in the same mental state as I was in last year. My daughter who did not fit into the age criteria decided by A. S Lovely easily got through 5 schools. AND I HAVEN'T PAID ANY DONATION.So, my learnings:

1. There might be exceptions but, our children will not sit home.It might take an extra month before the confusion settles but most of them would be happily or unhappily trudging off to school every morning.

2. Please do not make 10 affidavits. 1 is enough if you are a good decision maker but if there are chances of changing your mind after one successful admission you can make an extra. Sri Ram School has  a separate format.

3. You need to have a valid birth certificate, not necessarily computerised. My daughter's was hand written.

4. Get all the documents photocopied and attested at the earliest.

5. If you have shortlisted Gyan Bharti, BVN, start looking for your Discharge Summary of the hospital where your child was born. If you have thrown it way get a duplicate from your doctor there.

6. Some schools ask for a medical certificate, few even have a format.

7. From the schools that I applied to be ready to wake up early and stand in the queue to buy the form AND again to submit it. But there are exceptions: Parents were not treated as beggars at THE INDIAN SCHOOL, SARDAR PATEL VIDAYALAYA, APEEJAY, LAXMAN PUBLIC SCHOOL .

8. If you are in awe of Tagore International School DO NOT stand in the queue if your child does not fall into their criteria OR you haven't got the papers attested. THEY WILL NOT EVEN ACCEPT THE PAPERS.  Some schools accept and later reject them but here they are very clear and no requests can break the ice.

9. The Banyan Tree School needs an affidavit signed by a CJM and they expect parents to get it done as most parents do it and don't object.

10. Santa Maria , Vasant Kunj start their process Sept onwards. there are no advertisements. you need to take an appointment and meet the Principal. The best part is that the children have 3 yrs to mature before reaching Class I.

11. Children with special needs will need a diagnosis and a DQ will also help. Cambridge NFC, Santa Maria, Sri Ram , GD Goenka are a few which have good support systems.

12. Sardar Patel admissions depends totally on how many certificates can both the parents show. You should have a certificate for every claim you make.

13. Few people have heard of SHIV NIKETAN in KALIBARI. It is till Class VIII and they are very much focused on the holistic development of children AND THE BEST PART they happily take in children who are 4+.

Thanks geetika for so much information , i am residing in vasant kunj and planned to aplly in all vasant kunj and saket schools.....may b 15 schools and i m ready with all documnets attested copies, tell me one thing

1.do i required immunization chart / medical certificate at the time of registration or i need it at the time of addmission (verification of documents) .i have not this document till now.

2.Is there any chances that i got call from saket schools ? they are 7-8 kms away from my home?

3.first girl child/single girl child  is the same affidavit i need ? mine is first girl child .

4.in which school your daughter got addmission ;)

5.Do i need to apply in vasant vihar schools as well ?

6.For address proof my passport will do or father's passport required as address proof ? by the way i have my daughters's passport as well.

for the safre side documents need to attested from Gazetted officer.........else depends on school to school.

please help me by informing about the first born girl child affidavit....is it to be attached along with each application form?

do we have to submit original affidavits for each school?

Affidavit should be original for submission of application.

Last year I had submitted the photocopies of the affidavit to the respective schools AND submitted the original during admission

Hi Deepmala

1. You would need the immunization chart, medical certificate of your child, discharge slip at the time of registration.

2. If you would like your child to join any school in Saket ...there is no harm in applying. 2nd and 3 rd lists too are declared

3. Ask the advocate to mention the word girl child in the same affidavit.

4. My daughter is in THE INDIAN SCHOOL

5. Vasan Vihar is within 5 kms...so do apply

6. Keep the address proof of both you and your husband ready.

i am confused, i require immunization chart, medical certificate of my child, discharge slip when i got call from school ? or i need to submit these medical docs attched with the application form (like address proof, girl child affidavit )
