Hi Friends
There are total 1242 public schools in the state of Delhi which are recognized by the DOE (known as DOE Unaided schools). Pls see the list attached.
Out of these so many schools very few are considered established schools and are being favored by parents year after year for admission of their wards in Nursery. It clearly shows us the deep divide between the demand (aspiration of parents for sought after schools only) and the supply (with very few established schools and so many average schools.
I. East Delhi: Total schools 137
Schools much sought after by parents: around 14-15nos.
To keep things in perspective; approx nos. of Seats in General category / approx. Total nos. of Nursery seats = 1350/2500*
