Should we fix minimum age for admission to 4

Hi
Don't you all think the current system of sending your ward to school at the age of 3 is extremely harsh and torturous for him. Why no one talks about the court diktat of min. Age of 4 years set earlier. Why not ban the nursery class altogether. We are just smothering the childhood.....

Your view has some weight. Not all children are prepared for school at this stage

If the whole idea of nursery is removed and the entry level in schools become prep or KG at the age of 4 then i think it should be implemented.

But I belive SC gave a verdict on the similar lines raising the minimum age to 4. In fact most of the convent schools have removed nursery altogether. I strongly feel that admission to nursery schools should be barred and prep or KG should be the entry level. Sending children to schools at such tender age is simply preposterous and barbaric....

Your views are correct but why do we need to fix a upper age limit. I have seen many times parents with reason unable to admit on time. It can be medical, transfer or other reason. Right to education is funadamental right and we cannot and should not deny this to any child due to any reason. ..thats my take on this...

RTE is a fundamental right and there can't be any upper age limit. There can be a myriad reasons why a child couldn't have been admitted to nursery say when he was of regular age. Why can't he seek admission next year. But what I sternly oppose is admission at the age of 3 only

Yes i agree with it and thats the reason i struggled and still looking out as somehow i felt at 3yr my daughter was not ready for school. As communication and various other valid reason, even my pediatrician , school counselors were of same view. But this year she just turned 5 in jan and needless to say you can understand my struggle and views...
