Nursery admissions in Delhi will not begin on January 15 as some private schools on Monday moved the Delhi high court against the new guidelines, terming them illegal and arbitrary.
Some unaided private schools challenged a single-judge bench order that had on January 10 refused to stay the government notification setting down criteria for admissions.
The new norms were issued by lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung last month. Unaided private schools are those who do not get government grant.
The city has around 1.25 lakh nursery seats as against almost 1.50 lakh applicants. The top 50 schools get most applications even as seats remain vacant in the remaining 1,000 schools.
While it refused to stay the new guidelines, a division bench of justice Pradeep Nandrajog and justice Jayant Nath indicated that certain admission guidelines needed a "re-look".
“This (petition) needs detailed hearing. We are simply deferring the hearing without any order," the bench said. The Delhi government assured the court that it would not commence the admission process on January 15 and wait for its order.AS ADMISSIONS WONT START FROM 15JAN ,WILL DEPEND ON JUDGEMENT OF COURTS ON 15 JAN.

sansan sir, one has to sacrifice self centred approach. I am neither a social reformer nor an educationist. Yet I think for the community as a whole. You can't be biased for one purpose i.e. education for all. If this is not the case, these stays would have been rejected immediately, but it was not because hon'ble judges found something different and just wait for the result for some definite change.
That is why I am monitoring this forum since its inception. Taking out something useful is just like taking out juice of any fruit.
Yes, Mr. Sansan, I do support Mgmt Quota because of my justification given to you. If I am wrong, plz suggest how can a child get admitted if he doesn;t make to any of the school he applies.
You know last year a parent applied to 40 schools and he could not. Sakshi is witness. Now suggest in absence of quota, how one can get it.
We should request the govt. to encourage bodies to open schools round the earth and not a specific zone only. Anyway plz suggest idea to my problem.
There you go.. I was right...
Management Quota is a part of total number of seats & not a bunch of separate seats.
Case 1: Supose total of 120 kids apply for admission to a school.
Suppose Total Seats=100
Suppose no management quota is there.
Then a total of 100 kids are admitted & 20 kids are left without admission.
Case 2: Suppose there is management quota:
Management Quota=20*
Suppose Rest Gen=80
Total=100
Then a total of 100 kids are admitted 80 from gen + 20* from management quota.
20 gen kids are left without admission.
So you want to substitute gen quota kids (parents who can not afford to bribe the management) with kids who can buy seats !!!
Which is exactly one of the issues for which the PIL was filed = malpractices, unaccounted money transactions, un-equality, schools becoming cozy clubs of elite etc
The case of a parent who was left out (40 schools) was exactly due to someone buying the very seats which might have landed into her/his kid's lap, had management quota been not there.
No, this is your perception. My question was how can you admit a child who did not get admission in any of the school like last year a person applied to 40 school, yet he could not secure a seat for his ward. What is his fault? Will you help me? If yes, how? You mean mgmt quota invites donations, my reply to donations is 'NO'. I can prove it. Admission can be granted without donation also. Can you do so with your self centred approach.
What mess.....why are they jeopardizing our kids future?
'Justice delayed is justice denied. After all for whom. for everyone concerned because of some self made social servants. They have made the education system complete failure. How many parents are now happy with their fighting and their victory or loss. Complete failure bringing ill-feelings about our government functioning as well.
Social jurist who initiated this issue please stop it, if you can't think progressively. Your approach doesn't seem to be a matter of benefit for all. Let us fight equally for all and bring equal opportunities for all. You took the advantage of getting praise after LG guidelines that you won the battle and now what. Plz come forward and speak about your plans so that parent can be satisfied. No planned action plan at all. wasting everybody's precious time.
Who says that Justice is delayed, it is only wrt current admission session you are saying that, what about future ???
So called Fair Guidelines came when the admission process is about to start.
Why it was not released earlier and all discussion/ court cases done before December.
It is really adding worries/ confusion the way our system works.
It was on court direction that LG came out with guidelines. Last date for issuing guidelines was 18-12-2013, which was complied.
Exactly mr. Anjush Mathew, this should have been done earlier somewhere in May June to October 2013. So 3 months time was left for both the parties to be heared in case of writs if any. This late decision is a set back for parents and schools to re-plan their whole activities. Anguish all over.
This is just not good....
Mostly schools have pointing out their admissions forms from tommorow. What should we need to do in this condition?
