Is it necessary to be present in the school during draw of lots? Kindly advise on this.

As per point No. 40 (v) of the revised FAQs posted on DoE website, draw of lots will be in the presence of either of a parent. Means presence of one parent is essential. This is what I understood.
Mr. Vohra is taking up the issue, however most of the schools will not consider absentees, because their power is snatched from them by the HC. I am of the view that few branded schools will hold draw of lots irrespective of someone's absence.
1 more thing, this is not very valid point being both parents working. One can take leave but i also favour if all 10 schools hold draw of lots for 10 different days, then it will be very difficult for the employer to compensate your absence for 5 days each.
Anyway, let us see.
In a transparent admission process, chits should be put in case of absentees. Last time Laxman Public school conducted without calling parents and so 40(v) states that draw should be conducted in front of either of the parents.
Yes,It up to you your chit will be put anyways.
It is not mandatory to attend the draw, parents have been given this option to attend if they want and check for any errors/unfair system. Even if it is mandatory, someone has to suggest "how is it possible to attend draw at every school when parents have option of going to only "TWO PLACES" at a time
