Brands will dilute, as students will start excelling in neighbourhood schools also.
People can not brag now that my child is in XYZ school as now they can not buy the seats, everyone is equal.

Exactly,,, admissions is now dependent on luck and prayers to God. So un practical.

try for a govt school where you do not have to depend on luck !

Brands will always be there. Every engineer wants to be in IIT and every MBA aspirant in IIM's. Even in DU admissions kids prefer Branded Colleges to courses.
Why should school's be any different. In fact schools do form the foundation of a child. All the more reason to be chosy.
Its an imperfect world my friend.

Some parents believe that their children life will be a great success by admitting their kids in a branded school. And suppose they did not get a seat they are going to a state of depression. So it's time to look forward what really a good school means and what we really need for our child.

it works like this: have money, will send kids to modern thru management seats.
almost all so called top schools brand equity is the 'cremy / well to do status' of the kids studying there & not the results.
why the creamy status families are now looking for & vouching for schools in the NCR ? & suddenly schools like step by step have become best schools even before 1st batch of 12th is out of the school ?
IIM/IIT/aiims: merit plays the role. even getting into iit/iim does not gaurantee success in life. only minuscule numbers of the grads are employable.

I would appreciate if you and Lathaji just stand in front of DPS Mathura Road at 12:45 when their Junior Wing gets over.
You will find many parents belonging to the EWS community coming to pick their kids on cycles, rickshaws or simply walking. Most of them stay in Nizamuddin (Muslim Quarter) and do not constitute the creamy layer/ well to do status in any way.
You will start appreciating things in a better manner once you see it with your own eyes.

Ravi, do you know the strength of DPS MR for EWS category since its inception. A figure calculated on % of EWS comes to approximately 400 and the fact is different. Go to their houses and their work places for only half an hour and see their business.
75% fake parents certified themselves EWS category. No standardized parameters to describe it. It is only in papers. Ground reality is totally different.
You are seeing only one side of the picture. Fact is this, when these parents visit schools for any purpose, their outfits is different to what they are actually.
Just imagine can you get income certificate in 1 hour, if not? it is possible in NIzamuddin Basti (Dargah area). You have to roam for an hour and expose to be a Muslim. Someone will guide you. (I doubt racketing).
What do you say and suggest on this?

My son studies in the Junior Wing and I drop him every day. I am sure that after such a long time I would have known the difference.
Total seats are 240 in nursery so EWS works out to 60 seats. I am sure there are 60 EWS kids.
But like I said I would be glad to clear all your doubts at 12:45 when the school gets over

let us see your chances, this year u will fight a tough battle for DPS MR because your ward will be tried by draw of lots definitely. And if I am proved wrong, please do let me know on this forum. I am also monitoring this since its inception.
