I had initially sent a recommendation to mr Vohra that there should be a quota for siblings and alumnai rest all seats open to lottery. That way luck and fairness would be there. Now we are back to same place with
People with 70 points will have now where to go. Not even luck would be played. Hope the schools understand and the LG sees the flaws. If not for us but at least for parents next year. Just wish the LG would have been fair or woken up 6 months back to get these rules out earlier.

AN team and Mr. Vohra. what are your views? How can we get our voices heard? Also can all parents at unease for a fair policy file PIL in high court seeking a review on sibling quota and get LG to review this? what can be done?

I have not applied in DPS Rkp but I am expecting such a situation in my area too(North Delhi)... I just wish that I had a time machine...:(

Parents - lets explore if we can raise our concerns and seek a amendment. can anyone think of something? lets create a letter and thousands of parents supporting this and we send this to LG? Time to make changes

If we can form a big group and gather support then we should file PIL in high court. AN team and Mr. Vohra - please use your impact and influence and guide us please.

Suneet I agree with ur comment
No system is perfect suneet, but this time there are some good things also hapenning. Like no management quota, fixed point system for all the schools , common schedule so that parents dont have to block seats in multiple schools. We are better placed at least from previous few years. At least the govt is trying

@ Shivani

I concur. General seats are increased, transparency in draw of lots for general seats which never happened before, more chances for neighbourhood schools other than old well established few schools who have a big alumni list, fixed dates for first and second list, money saved by not blocking seats in many schools.

For this current year we don't stand a chance now in any court against these guidelines as the same has been refused a stay by the apex court. No matter how big a group we form or take the signature of n number of parents, only the govt will have to pass a bill in order to reverse the SC judgement.
The SC has referred the case back to HC who will take a look on 25th Feb, but any change to these guidelines will be for next year.
Still, it's a very early stage to jump to any conclusion on these current guidelines, if we let go top 15 schools, I think a lot of us will get to decent schools.

I agree with all views here and the system is definitely moving towards betterment but we will also need to provide regular inputs to the system. I will never recommend a PIL to stay the process but an appeal to review this specific aspect of sibling quota. its just a request to LG to review and order an amendment if he and his advisors are convinced.

Yash & Suneet Sethi, I too agree with you. It is high time for the all the persons associated with reforming our education system. Abolishing the board exam for Class X has bring downfall in XII results. Such policies to be discouraged. Hence, the govt. should start analyzing the guidelines for next session 2015-16 right now.

it is a matter of chance not luck.children are always lucky.
