NEIGHBOURHOOD POINTS NO GUARANTEE FOR ADMISSION

NEW DELHI: The nursery admission guidelines that gave neighbourhood the upper hand in nursery admissions may have brought a smile on the faces of many parents. But despite getting 70 points, admission in a school of their choice is going to be very tough.

Based on analysis of data posted by schools on their websites, it has become clear that staying close to a school will give parents a very small window of opportunity for admission and that admission is very difficult for those single children whose parents are migrants.

At Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj, for example, of the 130 nursery seats on offer, there are 127 parents who have scored 75 points or more. This leaves 1,426 applicants with 70 points for three seats.

At DPS East of Kailash, of the 117 seats on offer, 79 will be filled by those who have more than 75 points. For the remaining 38 seats a lottery will be held among 308 students who have secured 75 points.

The figures also contain duplicate applications, a feature that is sure to be repeated across schools.(Sumit Vohra)

Ultimately, what will happen is that schools will again have an upper hand this year and parents like us will be begging them to give a seat... and maybe become ready to pay what schools demand..

I think first child boy or girl shld b given 5 points..quota for transfer case...my child is siffering n next year schools will say ur child is 4+..we cant admit him...i m worried

Only sardar patel school has given points to first child but they have further divided distance slab..frm 0-3 n 3- 6 n 6 -8 futher... thought spv had mny more in its forms tht had points

Very easy way to find genuine transfer cases

File RTI asking the department and minister how are they getting transfers validated. Better for firms school send an official letter to validate the certificate and the address where they got transferred and how the salary was remitted in the place where they were living prior to coming to delhi. Bank statement for salary transfer should be enclosed to validate.

I am sure the bosses/hr who obliged their employees will not validate a forged transfer certificate.

while saying this most forms asked parents are they in a transferable job so naively parents who didnot researched well before filling online form ticked the option yes.

Also why blame the system or goverment for all the flaw it is people who forge documents and get away therefore it our conscious to blame if i jump a red light at early morning it my mistake you could not do policing every time.

Also from when c/o hostel address or in laws address became residence proof. Correct me if i am wrong it is the parents address which is taken in consideration here.

Also what is being done for duplicate forms which parents have filled for which sufficient proof has been uploaded on the website who will be taking this with school because as per rule duplicate forms entitles for immediate disqualification as per my understanding.

Not only that people staying in the same house has got certificates for office or branch transfer in delhi from gurgaon,noida etc saying it is a different state. These points should not be allowed for transfer in delhi NCR (NCT) region NAND 90 percent transfer cases will be rejected.
