WARDS LEFT OUT OF NURSERY SCHOOL LOTTERY, PARENTS SEE RED

NEW DELHI: Thrilled earlier by the new nursery admission guidelines, parents whose children were not made part of the lottery are now fuming.

Parents who have managed to score only 70 points through the neighbourhood criteria are a worried lot as most schools have not included them in their first lottery.

“Most schools have conducted the lottery among those students who have managed to score more than 75 points. The seats are being filled mostly by those children who have siblings in the same schools or whose parents are alumni,” said Sumit Vohra, founder, admissionsnursery.com.

Another big issue that has cropped up is the transfer points. Under the new guidelines, any child whose parents have been transferred to the city will be given 5 points.

A number of parents have alleged that those living in Gurgaon, Faridabad and Noida are taking advantage of the interstate transfer points.

“I don’t understand why anyone has to be given extra points for a transfer? Since neighbourhood is ideally the biggest deciding factor,”

According to experts, the first list will be contentious, filled with children who have got points in the sibling, alumni and transfer categories.

“We don’t want to condemn the guidelines. They are better than last year but neighbourhood points should have been given in a staggered manner so that a child who lived within a three kilometer radius would be assured of admission,” Vohra added

I fail to understand that  how  schools are doing verification of documents before 28th as per DoE

can school verify the documents before 28th Feb. Anyone pls

Yes Kiran they can.

Vasant Valley did it /Dps rkp did it

They cannot do screening or call kids .

Kiran Kapoor, 28 feb is the day where a list will be published for those who will be granted admission and this cannot be done unless proper verification is done. That is why schools have started doing the same so that final list on 28 can be displayed.

Sakshi's reply  is 100% correct to your query.

Mr. Amit Kumar Verma,  Sakshi is true for his words. She rightly said no parent will go to the court. Reason as soon as his ward is admitted in any school, the forum is no more in his memory. But Sakshi is always here and serving selflessly without any personal cause.

Who will indulge in court hearings, attending dates and other issues once the ward is admitted in any school. Practically not an easy task.

I also support U because of your approach to help the community. Plz go ahead for a noble cause. I am not be an activist but will support and wish you all the best.

we are here for a reason and what i understand u do not have children seeking admission so you can not understand the pain.

Gaurav Chawla -inbox him if he wants to share his phone no -He will

Amit Ji, u are the age of my kids and I consider everyone similar to you the same as my wards. Is there any parent who does not bless their wards for their success? But this is right time is changing and new generation has its own way of life. Perhaps u may not understand my philosophy. I am sure one day u will also vanish off from this forum by 2015. If you could not, I will be glad to accept my defeat.

I am very new to this forum since its inception and try to contribute to what I feel for the benefit of community. One can block me for the same. Never mind.

Anyway, would like to know your take on point system or any other system to ease tension of parents.  My take is distance points should be in slabs of 0-1, 2-3, 3-4 and so on ... No points for alumni and transfer cases.

Separate pool for sibings and 1st borns.

Maharam Ji, Thanks for your blessings much needed. I am considered notorious for sticking to a cause. Any one who knows me would definitely tell that be it RTI or apartment purchase cause i have sicked to them in spite all my works are done. People still seek my advise and i share templates with them to go ahead. also even if i am gone there will be multiple Amit/similar to take it further it a team effort.

once this mess is over for 2014-15 lets catch on a drink. Your energy and support is much needed to improve the system.

Amitji

With due respect

if you are such a big shot

1 What are you spamming and after posting 50 times cud get hardly 25 members I saw your fb page

2 Please stop boasting and do things on your own without taking support of this forum. Then prove yourself. I have never heard your name .

Please Amit and Amit - lets stay focused and not try to make a mockery out here. my humble request to all.

Distance slab points for all (event those who live above 10Kms). However not more than 50% seats reserved for EWS, Siblings, Staff (through lottery in case applicants are more) and then these categories can be tried in general category lottery.Transfer cases at nursery don't make sense as everyone should getting equal opportunities. This is so simple and not sure why policy makers can get it. Equal opportunity for all. Even those who live beyond 8 Kms. In addition parents should have the right to file RTI with school and any admissions that they believe are doubtful ones. Transfer ones should be scrapped. PAN card and bank account details of those applying in EWS. Other documents to be added to check for authencity of an EWS certificate.
