DPS Dwarka - More than two third shortlisted are transfer cases... Is this Fair?

Analysis of shortlisted applications for nursery admissions for DPS Dwarka reveals that AROUND 67% applications shortlisted for admission in first list are TRANSFER CASES.  Are the new guidelines for Delhi admissions designed only for some people who are getting transferred to Delhi.  I am wondering what should the people who residing in Delhi since decades do - transfer out of Delhi and seek admissions in other states !!!

There is no need for providing any advantage to transfer cases in Nursery admissions.  There are seats available in all schools and everybody should be on equal footing.  There might be a justification if we talk about higher classes where seats are limited and people getting transferred may be find it difficult - but for Nursery admissions, this is beyond any logic.

If at all there should be a consideration, it should be limited to a quota 1-2% or somewhere proportionate to transferred people versus people residing in city.   Obviously, when designing guidelines, nobody would have imagined that these 5 points will give transfer cases an unbeatable advantage to the extent that two third of seats will be hogged by them in schools of choice.

Is this Fair?  If not, we need to act NOW.

Nothing... just daylight robbery is going on. Authorities will not wake up they have already decide for the year and will only tell that they are helpless at this stage as the process is already upheld by court and is in process. We have to pull our hairs now and then what else. What all can be done legally to stop this disaster can be brought to attention by fellow lawyer parents to make everyone aware of the possibilities. Doing nothing will serve no good to 70ers. Something legal can be done to stop all this lawlessness can only help. It seems andher nagri chaupat raja like situation.

I am so tense that i have decided to gift myself a good smartphone if my daughter gets chance in good school..I will reward myself..

This time children were given alumni points only if parents passed out from the same school only and not any other core school run by DPS society after Mr.Vohra highlighted in media. I consider this to be another major success. This paved the way for more common people who are non-alumni to get shortlisted in the list. But still as you mentioned 5 points of inter-state transfer stood a biggest barrier for permanent residents of Delhi this time.

Alumni is understood and digested by most. These transfer points no-one would have imagined would give this unprecedented advantage to few and make the new point system so vulnerable to misuse/abuse. How can one digest the fact that 114 candidates out of 130 seats available would be accommodate transfer cases? Can there not be a cap saying 10% max would fill up transfer cases? How would anyone justify the austerity of this new point system to parents who have settled themselves near good schools in Delhi years in advance hoping that their kids would get benefited. Well it seems being nomads is better that being settled in Delhi. This is true mockery of the system and utter disgusting result to an optimistic & impractical so called fair point system. Worse is that this parents this year would have to face it and it doesn't look that it would change for them... pathetic is the word

Transfer points should be replaced with first born.
Instead of points, transfer cases should have a min. Fixed quota like 4 to 5%.

I completly agree . I have seen the DPS dwarka list and these are few of the observations

1) Not a single child with 70 points could make it to the cut

2) Lot of students had 75 points.

This shows that lot of parents are misusing this 5 point for transfer clause in the guidelines.

I would suggest Mr Vohra to raise this with correct forum and also the school fraternity to scrutinize the docs for transfer cases and not give weight to NCR transfers .

No body has realised that all the classrooms of nursery will have only alumni/transfer and sibling children only
