Commendable effort...hope things get better!!
this one is too gud and absolute a sigh of relief for all the parents out here .. must give us a reason to believe that truth always prevails over incorrect means .. keeping fingers crossed on the welcome call from Mr Vohra and AN.COM team . way to go !
Pushing for too much at this point in time will result in getting nothing; if the LG or anyone in his advisory team was interested in fixing the system, they wouldn't have come out with an ad-hoc points system in the 1st place. It is evident that not much thought has gone into etching these points. I feel all of us collectively with the help of AN should concentrate on the following:
1. Abolish the concept of any points whatsoever for any transfers whether from NCR or elsewhere into Delhi - Reason: no kid starting in Nursery is at a disadvantage as its the start of the term
2. Schools that have already gone in for a draw of lots for the general points, should now concentrate on doing it again as even the waitlists are inclisive of people with transfer points - this should not take too much time and as someone pointed out, even if it means schools starting a week or 2 weeks late, these kids will not loose as much as they will if they don't get admission
3. This will ensure that people with 70 points get an additional and fair chance to get into schools
Also, if possible as a 2nd measure, the system should try and re-introduce neighborhood points in slabs like 0 to 2; 2 to 4, and so on to ensure that parents get an equal chance in a school near their house; I am sure none of us would like to send our 3 year old kids to schools as far as 8 kms. In peak school traffic, 8 kms results in almost a 1.2 hr traveling time; not to mention the additional costs one has to take on like driver and additional car (many schools are not providing transportation for nursery and KG).
I don't have any faith in the current system and even though people tell me that some school will work out, I am unable to leave it completely to fate! At the same point in time, I am not able to come to terms with the fact that the future of my child is going to be decided by a lottery! How cheap and backward can a country / system get!!
Here the demand is for total scrapping of trf points for intial entry level,
true or fake does not matter
THANK YOU so much for taking our plight to the DOE. We look forward to a decision in the favour of most parents, scoring 70 points.
Dear Sir
Thanks a lot!
Appreciate the great effort taken by you to wipe out the plight of parents affected by inter-state transfer points.
Thanks Sakshi mam who supported the parents.
Hi Mr Vohar/everybody,
It is very good idea, in fact it not the matter of any thing to loose, if people are taking undue advantage of a loop hole in the selection methodology it is the moral responsibility of every parent to take up the matter in every manner possible.
Apart from this I would also suggest moving to court through a PIL before the closure of the admission process against the this discriminating and contradictory system of selection. On one hand we are giving weight-age to neighborhood and on the other hand we are giving preference to people who were not even living in the same city till recently.
it is ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE NCR CITIES HAVE ALREADY CLOSED THERE ADMISSION PROCESS 11/2 TO 2 MONTHS BACK AND MOST THESE CANDIDATES MAY ALREADY HAVE TAKEN THE ADMISSION IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD??? FUNNY ISN'T IT.......
