Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2024-25

Open Letter to Mr. Vohra:

Mr. Vohra & AN Team,

Thank you so much for highlighting various issues around the nursery admission guidelines.

Specific to Transfer Cases, i would like to let you know that we (about a dozen parents) met with the Director DOE today, and in the LG office yesterday.

At both places, our Point of View on the Transfer Cases being completely unjustified and discriminatory has been fully understood, and appreciated. The authorities have seen 100% merit in our plea on that point and have assured that they will take it up for active reconsideration.

Our humble request to you now is that in every media interaction you have on the topic, please please support us on FULL REMOVAL of Transfer Points (Reason being that TC cases are applying with location points and there is NO reason why they should have those 5 points) and a Re-Draw of All eligible candidates (with new point totals).

We absolutely want to avoid any digression of the discussion towards "Proper Verification Guidelines", or "NCR/ Non-NCR" topics...our plea has a very strong case and there is a very very good chance of it being accepted if we all stakeholders keep the pressure on.

As a suggestion we have also requested the department to shift those 5 points to First Child, OR to restrict the transfer cases to 5% quota (instead of 5 Points) incase they see merit in that as measure for this year.

Finally, we have also made a point that the amount of effort (for a Re-draw only, as no new application process is required for the above) and time that will be required to make the above requested changes, and to execute on them in the schools will be a matter of very few days, but the benefit of providing this fair opportunity to all parents will be huge!

Your help through the media will be very highly appreciated.

Regards,
Rahul

Yes i m also with u make some anouncement and meet at one place

I am with you on this Rahul

Hello Mr. Vohra. Transfer case should be removed immediately and also instead of 5 points, it should be 5% reservation like 5% reservation for Girl Child. If this is not removed then the local resident of Delhi would have to look options in Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Noida and this will force our child to go beyond 8 KM everyday. So I don't understand that this 8KM criteria is to give benefits to child or to force a child not to get admitted  in any school within 8KM radius.

Some Ray of Hope!

i think even if this gets passed. The schools will find another way of back gate entries.Same situation will come all kids after that will be 75 points holder rather than 70 points holder. Its only money that will speak again

title of this post is slightly misleading, i thought it's official.

Mr Vohra please for god sake, for delhites sake, For majority sake, please support and endorse a FULL REMOVAL of transfer points system we the parents have lot of hope and trust on you.

I think we are being overzealous here as in many schools Siblings and alumni cases are eating in to the entire set of general seats. Their should also be rationalization or quota for sibling and alumni points as well.

Today NGFS - Saket has come out with their admission details. 99 candidates for 123 general seats have 75+ points - These are sibling cases and alumni case with transfer points.

Also, we do the DPS EOK & VV analysis. If, we remove transfer points even then the general category does not open up for 70 points as Siblings and alumni would be absorbed and next to zero seats would be available for commoners. This is going to be a problem in all the old schools where up to 75 - 85% of the seats would be taken up by sibling and alumni cases.

If we consider comparatively newer schools the sibling share would be any where between 35% - 45% . In a nutshell "STILL THE GENERAL CATEGORY SEATS FOR 70 POINTERS WOULD BE LIMITED".  Solution which we all need to propose is pretty simple -

5% Quota for Siblings

5% Quota for Alumni

5% Quota for Interstate transfer

This is cleaner and a better solution for all the general quota parents. Please suggest or add on to this as we need to immediately take action so as to avoid being late again.

I agree.

I totally agree with you Ash
