Dear Sumit -

I hope you will be able to take up this with as much fervor as the transfer points. I agree that the TP system was irrational. But this is much worse as it is simply UNFAIR.

It is creating an intellectual elite of parents who went to good quality schools and thus giving their children a pre emptive right to the same institutions. We over romanticise the idea of multiple generations in a family going to the same school. Instead, it is far more important to create a level playing field giving everyone an equal opportunity of getting into good schools.

Dear Madam / Sir,

On behalf of thousands of parents in Delhi, this is express my utter helplessness in respect of the ongoing nursery admissions in Delhi this year.
As parents, we have intellectual and financial capability of providing the best education possible in Delhi for our son. Yet, we are completely at the mercy of a lottery system. Even that would be fine, provided it was a level playing field for parents and was not subjected to multiple criteria.
I understand that you are taking off the interstate transfer points. In the same stroke, I strongly request you to strike off the sibling and alumni points as well. It furthers the divide between the "haves and have nots" and keeps children of parents like us who have moved or went to lesser schools away from good quality schools in their neighborhood for absolutely no fault of theirs. In addition, I fail to see the rationale of an alumnus's daughter having the first right to his parent's school. I went to an IIM and I hope my son gets an admission there as well - but not because I am an alumnus.
This will create a level playing field - which is a clear need of the hour. As you know, this is also the global trend - where only distance from the school is the key criteria of shortlisting.
I hope you will consider our request.
Yours sincerely,
Gaurav

Why so? is it not fair to expect that both siblings study in the same school?

alumni is not that bad there would be very small number of cases where either parent is within 8 km still after years of completing schooling and would get 70+5 points. This would be a minor population, and clearly not unjust either.

as parents we should not ask for too many changes otherwise people will not take us seriously.

Very well said vivek..the main prob is transfer points as we not even called in draw of lots bcos of them..there were many fake cases..
Gaurav i have jst send mail to DoE for removal of alumni...and dosto.. transfer points have been completely removed so use your energy for removal of alumni only.

suresh: alumni points are justified...no questions asked...

yaar how can u justified it... sorry i am not satisfied.
Agree with you, take an example of spring dales Pusa road or kirti nagar. All the seats would be occupied by sibling(justified) and alumni only (non justified). 70 pointers stand nowhere.

shivani: being aumni of any school is not a crime but is a matter of pride..U too would be an alumni of some school....please avail the reserved points there...

Nitin what if parent like me after marriage has settled down here. Don't I have right to send my kids to best school. As an Alumni please feel proud of school, but getting seat basis that is not justified. Absolutely not.

I completly agree with Suresh saying " Why Raja ka beta Raja" becoz somebody went to a school 14-20 yrs ago shld have privilege now... is not justified.

Yeh tho congress wali politics hai only Gandhi's will rule baki sab ne paap kiya hai kya???

Agreed that alumni points should be removed......
