Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools
Dear All,
I am really confused and really doubt the term Honorable and feel disgusted with what is happening. Just short of knowledge on few things:
1) Story of 8th March: Crux - The Delhi High Court has rejected the plea to quash the points allotted to alumni and siblings in the nursery admission process and issued notice to the city government on the same, a move which has coming as a disappointment to many parents.
2) Story of 19th March: Crux - NEW DELHI: A fresh petition seeking scrapping of the alumni and sibling criteria in nursery admissions was heard by the Delhi high court on Tuesday. "Renotify the petition for hearing with the pending petition on March 24," a bench comprising acting Chief Justice B D Ahmed and Justice Siddharth Mridul said.
What I am trying to understand is how can same thing be challenged again and again? Also trying to understand the term HONORABLE.
One more confusion: Parents who are master of Constitution and have been reading it daily morning since birth. Can you please answer the question that we are democratic country and what are the details of this aspect. I am a less educated parent and I feel 99.99% parents can file PILs against these educated bunch of super intellectual parents and Government. I think your fight is till your child gets admission in a school.
Please file PILs against distance criteria now... Suggest if you calculate the distance accurately - 525 mtrs (eg) and fight for that criteria. You never know your child may not still get admission. (I really want everyone to get admission but helpless with the attitude of parents)
Pls share your views...

I must assert that i am certainly not a selfish person and don't think that if alumni points are capped, my daughter will get admission. It will provide fare contest for kids including mine for a better life.
I just want to assert..
Bottom line is fight is for justice and equality and as far as injustice will have a way around the fight will come back.
We are actually all trying to say what we think is the best and protects us, the plea against scrapping alumni and sibling is a problem, because it has come too late in cycle, parents with these points applied in limited number of schools and if anything changes now there will be a huge chaos as these parents will also have all rights to file PIL's.
If i am a sibling case I am trying to jsutify why sibling points should not go and if I am an alumni I am trying to defend the alumni stand......yes these two criterias have an impact on schools but the number is limited to old schools, lots of schools in the first round also had draws for 70 pointers. the alumni and sibling have chances in one schools and the amount of these being not genuine is rare. The problem was the transfer points, as the same names were figuring in all schools and draws were not opening for 70 pointers and once the transfer points went away( the main reason for this going was not that 70 pointers were not getting seats, no one cares about that one rules are made, the reaosn was that it was proved that there were too many fake cases) schools did open up for draw at 70 points. The fight started with who keeps the seats after the change in guidelines on 27th and see where we have ended up challening all the points.
Sibling and Alumni points have always existed since the point system came into place so why a hue and cry now and what justification does the LG/ DOE/HC have to scrap these, the problem is the demand and supply and also 70 points for neighbourhood where from 0-8km each school has 2000 applications.
We are all waiting for what is going to happen on 24th and all are a worried lot, some of us have admissions and some of us do not, but to scrap all points and do draw of lots as all parents want what is the gurantee that we will get admissions, as each school has 60-90-150 seats and applications based on neighbourhood are anywhere from 1500-2000. IF the point system goes and we have only neighbourhood we will be in a bigger soup.
I sincerley pray to GOD that all our kids go to school
This time no slabbed distance point and the horror is going around all good to average schools that i why alumni up to a fixed % cap is digestible. Sibling point can stay due to ground facts. Hope you dont find my view biased. I don't have any alumni/sibling point.
Bottom line is fight is for justice and equality and as far as injustice will have a way around the fight will come back.
What ever.... or anything happens.... but i think and hope this time DOE WILL COME up with concrete guidelines...
i think all the draws will be cancelled and new draws will happen based on the new criteria, because HC also understands that there will be more & more PILs if the guidelines are not changed.
Its not going to be an easy decision for HC .. DoE has not been able to justify any of its guidelines - so anything can happen depending whether the judge's grand children have alumni/sibling/transfer case or not..
Really judges can consider such personal issues while address justice for mass!! Hope they don't let their judgement budged due to their kid/grad kids. Pray!!
Really hope that the judge does not listen to frustrated people like these who will stop at nothing to secure their child's seat. And really hope that the Hon HC will have sense to ensure that no injustice is done to the ~20000 selected kids. Remember - by challenging any one criteria, all other criterion will become susceptible.
With any change in guideline / process, the court shud also approve leave for one month for all working parents as the organizations / companies are not aware what is happening with parents who are seeking nursery admission for their child.
He he it is smart thinking..if all pil are honoured then why not we should approach court for a legal one month off as parents are running like headless chickens.. :)
