Just a thought on Alumni ans its argument. May not mean anything to most of the parents here
I was just trying to visualise a communication between students of school, college etc
Scene -
Students talking - A conversation between St Columba's students "Yaar Shahrukh Apne school ka pass out hai".
Parents talking -Parents within their circle - Mera beta us school me padhta hai jahan se Shahruk khan padha hai..
(This is mostly true for all schools, colleges, inst. Be it Amitabh in KMC, XYZ in some or the other school or college)
As few parents said that it is the matter of pride that their kids got to X school (Best school). Who made these schools?? Were alumnis important?? Everyone showcases the alumni strength to build on the reputation of the school. For me just like teachers, policies, administrations, principal etc even alumni are important ingredient in making the school. Talk to any school and they will tell you what role has alumni played in building stature of the school.. You are fighting for a school because alumnis of those schools have reached somewhere in their life..
Many students have passed out from a school/college but very few achieve big things and these people are leveraged forever in every conversation by school, students, parents etc.
When someone make strong argument against sibling convenience/logistics is the prime reason.
People always ask which is the good school.. What is the criteria under consideration?
1) Infrastructure 2) Extra-curricular 3) Management 4) Past records ?? (Is it one of the criterias that what is the track record of the school?) 5) many others may be..
I am not trying to validate alumni point but my concern is the way parents are talking crap about this criteria. Aren't they alumni of a school? Even I am from some school but I want my son to study in some other school but have no option due to these guidelines. But I have no complaints against the guidelines. It could have been raised 3 months back. Which no one did.
(Pls note that I am not trying to support or oppose any criteria.. As I have been emphasising on my various posts.. For me whatever is the criteria should have been challenged in Dec and not now)

if i extend ur logic-
1. delhi school alumni Contributed to their school, they know the process, culture of the school so they deserve a seat for their child
2. DU alumni contributed to DU, so their children deserve and should onlybe considered in DU
3. DOE officials contributed to our education system (by giving us these guidelines) so their children be made next DOE babus when they grow up ( DOE alumni quota) perhaps all govt jobs should be filled this way.
perhaps now i understand the logic of one the PM candidate - " my father was PM and contributed to this country i know the processes and culture of PMO so i desrve to become PM thats my qualification, to hell with democracy, to hell with equality"
thanks for educating me on this logic now i really feel super educated ( whtever that term means)

If a PM's son thinks he should be that future PM, its NOT his fault those who blindly support this thought are foolish.
Simarly if an alumni dreams of getting his child admitted to his school, its NOT his fault. The whole system is at fault if it blindly guarantees EVERY one from alumni category an admission.

Yes you are up to mark in clarifying the issue! Those at privilege will alway assert that it is their right..even if they see that many kids around them have been denied even a fare contest(bad to see that kids have to contest..it makes me cry..).
Hope parent understand the need for improvement in govt schools and increase in private schools seats and they put their efforts as they are doing with many PILS

Thanks for even thinking about 70 pointers. Imagine their plight when they were running from one school to another standing in queues in this bitter cold to fill one form in the faint hope that their child would be able to get one seat be it good or bad. Do you really think it is easy asking for leaves in first half and then slogging till late night to complete the days work. I know at least 50 parents who in spite of having sibling points applied in 15-30 schools. The trauma never ended there we had to accommodate time from schedule to be their at lotteries also just because the mere thought that our childs chit should not be left out. During this whole period no one cared about our misery you were enjoying your sweet time laughing. Please could you kindly tell us what stopped you from applying in multiple schools and please do not give me the answer that you wanted to give opportunity to 70 pointers like us. Also the amount you will be spending in play school will be much less than each of us spent during admission form process and are still paying the additional cost of play school like you.
All of us have to understand the game changer was not the removal of TC points but forcing a redraw of honest 70 pointers who got a genuine rarest of rare seat. Also genuine TC point holders should understand that the main reason of their losing seats were not 70 pointers but alumni point holders as they wanted to kill their competition. TC pointers should challenge alumni as they are the one who piggy backed on 70 pointers and left them once their agenda was over. Name one school where the direct effect of TC removal has not benefitted alumni set seekers.
So if it is a redraw then all of the points have to be removed including sibling and alumni and everyone should get fair chance because we low lives 70 pointers have lost our only seat wherever we got it.
The alternate option is that status of 26th Feb is maintained as genuine TC cases were not at fault only fake cases should be prosecuted.
As the heading said what is the justification Transfer points now similarity what is the justification of alumni and sibling.

@Kanika, what is the justification for 8 KM, why not 1 KM or why not whole Delhi.

Only & only FAKE TRANSFER CASES should be punished, NOT OTHERS(70 pointers/alumni/sibling/genuine tc). rest make the policy for next year nursery admission... please stop putting PIL as why our kids suffer due to these late comer PILs. this year session is getting delay.

Totally agree with your opinion.."Only & only FAKE TRANSFER CASES should be punished" and the admission should be restart from where it was on 26 th February....Whatever happen after 27th Feb should be nullified and for this year it should be done as per the currents guidelines .Otherwise never-ending PIL will come in the way....and the process will not start.
So scrapping,capping,staggering...etc should be considered for next session onwards...
But still I feel the root cause of all this delay are the alumni who are more into scrapping the TP points...
