String of nursery admission orders puzzles parents

NEW DELHI: The numerous orders and notifications being issued regarding the nursery admissions every other day has left parents confused. No one is sure what the status is at present, which court - the high court or the Supreme Court - will finally decide what happens to the admissions this year and when their tots will start school. Some schools starting classes on April 15 hasn't helped matters.

Parents have begun consulting their own lawyer acquaintances for clarity. "A client of mine is an SC lawyer. I had a talk with him on the current situation. What he told me about SC dates is very alarming. He told me that in SC, dates are given many months away in normal cases and if the SC thinks the case is very sensitive and time-bound, and needs an immediate judgment, the best they can do in these cases is give dates 20 days away," says a parent. Another parent adds that it seems unlikely - factoring the schools' summer vacations and the courts' dates, along with general delays - that the process will begin before September.

There is also worry over the fees that many paid during the few days admissions were permitted by the high court. That round closed on April 9 and the April 3 order allowing admissions has been stayed by Supreme Court. "One court told us to decide and deposit fees within a few days and another has stayed that process. We had secured the seat for our child by paying a handsome amount," says another.

Some parents gathering on admissionsnursery.com are even considering appealing to the petitioners and asking them to withdraw the case.

"What about parents who have already paid a quarters' fees as per the last HC decision? Will schools refund them if the session begins after the summer vacation? Many parents, expecting the case to go on till after the summer vacations have cancelled holiday plans," says Sumit Vohra of admissionsnursery.com. He adds that several minority schools - and even the odd non-minority one - beginning session on April 15, has confused parents further. The starting of session on April 15 wasn't a high court direction but that of Directorate of Education.

I too agree with the admission of all kids in schools and starting of session for all kids, but if the court proceedings are going for a long way, how can we send our child in a playschool

like my son has become 4 years old, and i feel really sorry for him to send him playschool with 2.5 years kids. And i dont want to say anything against our judiciary, but i feel very helpless, despite getting admission of my son in a school (in first draw).

Lets think for once that the session starts.
1) kids who hv got admission will start adjusting in their respective schools.then if SC passes an order for a redraw.....again their schools will change and they hv to adjust themselves again in some other school.
2)wat about kids who have not got any admission or who will get admission in the 'next slot'.imagine half class doing counting 1-10 and half d class already completed it and doing counting from 10-20

What if half class doing counting 1-10 and half d class already completed it and doing counting from 10-20....I guess every kids have already done counting from 1-30 by now in their play schools.....its not a the big deal....even parents can teach them at home...

Dear seems u could not get it right.it was just an example.....the whole point is some children learning new things and others being left behind

DOE should come up with guidelines for fee adjustments from the start of session for the quarterly fees already paid by parents if admissions remain confirmed and updated refund policy if they want to change any other school. (depends on SC verdict)

Any one have information how many schools have stated their nursery admission session?

I have heard in North Delhi Montfort , Delhi International public has already started. Any other School In North Delhi?

Is It Confirmed Lathaa that fees will be refunded if child got admission In another school. As my child also not get admission anywhere except Alumani case DAV Shalimar bagh. and they had taken that admission fees on 2rd March and now as Per circular its already cross one month but session is still not started. so will they refund my fees if I discontinue after SC order?

Thanks In advance

I think this forum is lacking a good accountant and a auditor. As regards Fee refund, school should follow existing fee refund policy that is only in case of withdrawal within a month from the date of admission. If the session starts in July, then Schools will not refund the fee nor they will adjust the fee for next quarter. Dear friends, who will pay salary to the teachers who are now engaged in some other activities for 3 months? If they are not paid because of this mess, what is their fault? Apply it on you or your employee. Reasoning will be clear. I am sure SC will not pass any order regarding fee adjustment or refund till June. Schools are not at all fault.

Dear friends, not only teachers many other staff is involved for all this, be it guard, sweeper, aaya, drivers, conductors etc. Everyone is criticizing schools but not other elements who brought chaos to this problem.

I do not agree with any of the parent on this issue of fee refund or fee adjustment and hopeful nothing would come from the SC favouring parent community in this regard. I am having many other reasons to justify my stand on this. Why don't you understand the real problem? Decision is awaited and we started raising among us another issue. Very smart parents! This is the way to start a session for kids. Kids are waiting eagerly for their new school and we are busy in evolving new issues and that too when one is not solved yet. It hearts me.

@mahram ji plez come on!!!!! We all know how good these goons pay to the teachers... i know many well known schools whivh take sign on a amount and pay actually half the amount.... dont have so Much pity on these cunning money hungry schools....

@ Mahesh Jain Sir

I have notice that you always mention the private schools as goons school...actually what does it means...If these are goons schools then why r u trying to admit your child in such schools...u being a teacher of govt school should give preference to your schools..instead of cribbing everyday that ur kids is not getting admission anywhere....I hope in staff quota he/she will get entry easily....also free studies...

Indu ji.... most of them are.... sorry to say... we all suffer financially fromnthese schools in one way or the other.....

We all arw free to express our opinion....sorry if you felt hurt but truth is truth... and we all should happily accept it

..

Should not always criticised.....they take money and give something in return...Sccurity,enviroment hygiene,infra..etc...
