@Mahesh Jain, Totally agree with you...
@jully shaliNi .. thanx and i think every parent here is not after money but want there kids to get into some school....But if session not start now Then all of us will feel cheated
By when we can expect DoE order after taking legal advice as now it will play a significant role
Dear all, if DOE will come up with any guidlines about the fee for first quarter. Then its most likely that it will come in the favour of school lobby.
If we look at this issue from a myopic and materialistic view, then if no services is provided then no fee should be charged from us. But if we analysis that we are entrusting a school with 14 years (168 months) of our child to build their future and if we have to bear a monetary loss (materialistic view) of 3 or 4 months, I do not think it is a big issue. To expect schools to be run ethically we also have to have that ethics (charity starts from home) and understand the limitation of other person too. Schools have also some limitations, they are not run for charity, have also have some liability and just to grudge for a fee of a quarter (three months) is something which I feel to a certain extent is unethical considering the long relationship that we are going to have with a school. Most to us who have deposited the fee must be alumni or sibling cases and if we plead for our case for extra benefit in admission by way of marks for alumni and sibling then I think that much we owe to that school. Or one just takes a myopic and selfish view as taken by the persons who have filed the PIL and result in agony of so many persons in Delhi. I am reiterating again that I am also sailing in the same boat, but we have to look at the picture from a broader angle. I know it is hard and pinches to pay for a same thing twice but sometime we have to bear with that pain for larger interest.
Ok, now look at this scenario
If the admissions already done (before 10th April) would not have been done, i mean if there were no admissions till date (because of court order or other wise) and after HC or SC order, admissions would have started from june or say july, then if schools ask parents to pay from April, then also will you think of genuineness of schools to ask for fees from April onwards to pay salaries of staff, repair maintenance etc. and like to pay for them, if admission is done in july and session starts from July
Hi Puneet, its not about 2-3 month fee and certainly most of us are interested in sending our kids to school in time however if we see from school perspective they are charging fees during vacations as well and from thousands of students however they cut down on teacher's salary as most of them are adhoc and transportation cost as well apart from charging parents every now and then for something or the other.
For a larger ethical change we need small good chances which reflect an authentic ethical environment around us and schools should be the first to step in when it comes to moral responsibilities.
If its matter of bearing this small loss then why can't such big schools bear this small loss as we have parents who are in middle class group as well for whom even this small amount matters and what examples are school setting for society that they are ready to charge fees without providing anything to the children ?
The matter should be settled between court, DOE and schools and they need to come up with a concrete conclusion and orders and save time and money parents keep putting in the name of their Child's Welfare.
Dear Vishwas you are again taking a myopic view, what ever you have said is true but this situation is not a situation which is created every year (and hope should not be created in future). One has to make sacrifice for larger interest and soceity will flurish and survive if we may sacrifices. As I have said charity starts from home first or otherwise you are also free to file a PIL against it.
Understand Puneet but we dont need to mix money with peace of mind..if they keep asking you for money will we keep paying them for peace of mind, doesnt make sense. You need not pay for something where you are not getting anything in return..its as simple as that.
In case any parent for any genuine reason is unable to deposit fee for even 1 quarter schools will charge late fee amount or issue a warning against the parent and will throw the child out of school if you dont pay them fees after 2 or 3 circulars have been issued. They only understand business why should we be expected to think about charity for any reason.
Need to understand that we as parents will do everything for our kids but institutions and authorities take advantage of that and try to extract money in whichever way its possible so need some strict guidelines on not only fees but any undue amount being charged from parents.
My friend you are again thinking from your point of view. firstly you are mixing two things. This situation is unique and should be treated differently and what examples you are giving are of routine nature and should be treated as per the existing rule. So mixing two things of different nature is not good and nobody will make any guidelines regarding this particular situation.
Babita G, I am taking about the situation at present, as I have already mentioned in my earlier post schools have given some sort of guarantee to us that our wards will go to their school condition to that nothing drastic will not occur in future HC orders. The peace of mind that we enjoy at this point of time is nothing compared to fee for a quarter considering the tension that the parents whose ward names have not been there in any list and they are still waiting for admission. For the all buts and ifs, the famous saying of Mr. Sidhu, Agar Mere uncle meri anty hoti to……….............
But we must understand that if classes are not starting than schools are not to be blamed. They have taken fees and had declared that classes was starting from 15 th April but it was the supreme court due to which schools cancelled all classes.
