i have observed one thing that why parents approach one particular school of their choice because no control over the education system being adopted across schools......schools become the choice because people create the opportunities to schools to drive their own rules and guidelines....and finally impact all the parents....just compare with US schools , though i shud not put this comparing difference but fact is fact....this war is not ending and will stop once govt. strictly put their own guidelines keeping parents and children welfare and ofcourse our society and country.....i expect a lot from Modi govt. and i m sure he will setup a role model for our entire nation....

Schools make money from this kind of uncertainty. Because now parents will have to book seats in some of the new age private schools and pay whatever the school demands. Otherwise they could end up as people like me did last year - without a confirmed seat in any of the good schools.

@Surbhi Sharma- So alumni points still exists or each school has its discretion to make i part of their criteria or not?

Now this seems to be the kind of verdict which will open the doors for a lot of appeals and PILs etc. If not anything else this will confuse all the parents as they will now have to go thru every school's separate guidelines. But I have a feeling that this journey has just got underway and we are still a long way off from this year's final admission guidelines.

true and this is what i meant that school will pressurize parents to book their seats off the track (it will be through management quota and will demand like anything , no control over that) which will affect the normal admission procedure....Heard lot of feedback from different parents about the misuse of management quota.....this decision went in the favor of schools and not parents....finally my kid would be affected :(

now that school is open to have management quota but not beyond 20% of toal seats.

Abhishek - As per Ganguly Committee there is a 20 percent management quota.

Rajat, Alumni Points are not a part of this recommendation.
