This might have the scenario of every year, that at the end of the show govt. realizes or get to know about something and then asks various schools to bring about the desired changes. It is really disgusting for the parents and injustice with the little kids. Before the beginning of the admission process, the application forms should be approved by DOE and then should be made public, so that it does not bring any chaos among the parents.
If the points for profession and qualification of parents are removed what left sibling and alumni about neighboruhood maximum schools are awarding full points upto 8 or 10 kms how 10km distance is justified in neighbourhood, the criteria of transferable job is moulded by all schools to be applicable to those who have transfered to delhi after a particular date where will general public go the schools have become property rights of sibling and alumni. SO a child will experience reservation from its first step into education. The points system should be revised and should be made as such all gets equal chance.
Now schools like DPS Rohini who have only come out with the list for verification of documents also have an excuse for not re-doing the process, even though they have not come out with the first list of students.
what about such schools, will they follow the ruling of DOE
i completely agree with ritesh , point system parameters need to be revised .
this is completely hopeless...if such are the instructions then why be partial towards towards the schools that have not come out with results.Let this be a fair practice.Schools like DPS VK ...I would have had fair chances of my child admission , had the govt. employee criteria of profession not been there. DOE seems to be a sick institution. Why is DOE / Parents who are against the qualification / profession criteria -quite on points related to Alumins & Siblings.....IS THIS not biased & that too points like 20 each making a total of 40......ridiculous....... SICK & PHATHETIC is the state of affairs.
Exactly sonya , with me also my child will for sure get in to springdales dhulakuna but, with the parameters like alumini & sibling ,it seems realy tough getting there. this is totally not fair for parents of first child ..

hopeless!!!! people i must say...when DOE has so much to say on parents qwualification how do they justify there shortlisted criteria.. like what is alumini parent or sibbling got to do with childs admission or even worse what is distance got to do.. with child admission....either frame a guideline which they can justify or else leave it for schools to take a call...
The last-minute directive from the Department of Education is not only too late in the day but also a knee-jerk reaction under pressure from a powerful non-professional lobby. It will create huge chaos and uncertainty and serve to manipulate results to favour those whose wards would otherwise not find a place in some particular coveted schools.

There are 3 questions which need to be answered-

1. When all schools had submitted their selection parameters to the DoE way back before the registration process even began, why did the DoE not raise any objections or issue any guidance? The Minister says that "no approval was granted" but no rejection is always deemed approval, especially after the commencement of the process. The fresh directive is challengable in the Supreme Court but there's little time left now.

2. If it is unfair to deny nursery education to a child based on parents' profile, how is it fair to deny them admission if they have no sibling or parent who studied in the same school? Is it a child's fault that his parents could not find a house in the neighbourhood of a good school? Some schools like Mothers International have kept 60 points for alumni and sibling and 40 for neighbourhood. Technically speaking, it is very difficult for "outsiders" to get admission there. Isn't this blatantly discriminatory? Also, some schools give extra points to Government servants. Should this be allowed now? Therefore, logically speaking, all parameters can be challenged on one basis or the other but the way the DoE has acted against one parameter, in the last over of the game, raises serious concern.

3. If lessons are learnt, then next year, the DoE should fix universal parameters binding on ALL schools. The registration of forms should be a centralised process like in IIT-JEE exams and parents should indicate preference of schools. All seats should be allotted by the DoE based on points ranking and school preference. Isn't that the most fair process?
Thanks Pragya

How can there be such a last minute decision on the government's part when parents may have chosen their schools on the basis of where they stand to score more. for people like us, who don't score on alumni or don't have a sibling and have been meritorious, this is a blow. if the government wants to provide an equal platform, create equal opportunity, then none of the schools shd be allowed to have any criteria whatsoever. And why let schools that have come out with their lists get away - isn't that discriminatory? This is like penalizing those schools that stuck to the right date for releasing their lists and along with it all the parents who waited for these!
Exactly by allowing schools which have come out with their lists to carry on, they are actually penalising the schools for following DOE guidelines and declaring their results on 1 feb.
The government should make all the schools revise their lists so as to give equal opportunity to those who have suffered due to the point system
U know what DOE should firstly take action against all the schools which have come out with the lists before the prescribed date declared by DOE ie 1 feb.
All these schools should be issued a notice that how they admitted children in the month of january.
