NEW DELHI: Nursery admissions, which are on in full swing in the city, have left a large number of parents disappointed. The children of most of these parents could not make the cut to any of the schools this year after a draw of lots. Miffed at the way the admission process was carried out, a group of parents from Admissionsnursery.com on Sunday staged a protest at Jantar Mantar, demanding greater transparency in the inter-state transfer points allotted to the parents.
They alleged that the interstate transfer criterion was subject to manipulation.
“Even though the DOE has allotted five points to interstate transfer criterion, it proved unfair for most of us. It is completely ambiguous and leaves a lot of parents at a disadvantage,” said Tarun Bhattacharya, a parent.
Some parents had applied to as many as 30 schools. But their hopes too have been flagging as the lottery process in these schools progresses. With more than 4.5 lakh applications received by nearly 970 private schools in the city, parents say that chances of their children making it to a school of their choice are slim.(Data Given by Mr Sumit Vohra)
“Most parents who have applied to schools have 70-75 points. Of those who have 75 points, there are parents with points for alumni or inter-state transfers. All these parents are put through the lottery process. So for an average of 100 seats, there are nearly 1,5002,000 applications and most of us end up being left out,” he added.

Feeling guilt that why not I was living in other state and got transferred to Delhi as there is no value for Delhi people

Now what is concrete action that we people are taking, Vohra Ji now this is time to take action and act tough and come on streets and approach court, This is a very serious issue , Life of our children is on stake.

You are Right Rahul Uppal ji, because of other state people we people who are living in Delhi for a long time do not got any benefit.

We are paying tax and other state people are getting admission in nursery...where my kid would go????

Totally agree with rajesh... We are here in Delhi since 7 years and paid tax to Delhi gov. But the benefit given to outsiders

Most of the parents are quite till now thinking that it's the same 75 pointers that have applied to all the schools within 8km radius and we are thinking that after these 75 pointers choose there desired schools on 28th February we the 70 pointers will get chance in the 2nd list, false false false ! We should understand one thing clearly that in Delhi, private schools seats are very few for every 4 children eligible for nursery their are only 1 school so believe me these 75 pointers are so so many that they will occupy all seats of all private schools leaving no seats for any 70 pointer in any private school.

Im residing in Vasant Vihar, walking distance from sri ram school, modern school, dps school, live behind tagore school, but with 70 points i dont think i can make it anywhere. this is so unfair!!

So what are you doing? Fight come out of house and comfort. Some of us fighting and gathered Saturday on India gate and Sunday on Jantar Mantar to bring this in notice of LG...this has been noticed by media and newspapers,.. you cans ee it in toi..do whatever you can do..but do something for sure....

if we know some one who have applied with fake interstate transfer and got admission then we have to intimate the concerned schools . If nothing will happen then at least it will be verified that schools are not verifying the transfer cases genuinely......because of which we are loosing
