that is quite right...people who are selected are those who have scored in EVERY available criteria..they have scored in sibling, transfer, alumni, neighbourhood full points etc etc...

that is true. Most schools are giving sibling point=25. The distance points vary from 25 to 5. The school have 100 student per standard. So school is having 1200 students. And so the general category will be 50 seats. Then if you are living in 3-5 km area you are out of the list as probability of getting siblings is 50 in 1200 students may be the school student are living 20 km away from school. Only the chance you can get if you have girl child. The distribution of point is really disappointed.  

 

I am living in Chandni Chowk, being an engineer and IT consultant I am helpless to get admission of my boy in any school. Happy school, Cambridge school, ramjas and some other schools are under 2 KM from my house but still I get only point 10 for distance.

 

I also lags only child point as I have a cute little baby of 7 months.

 

So my problem is that my first child has admission in the year where schools are giving preference to elders.

 

Do any school have any criteria to educate my child. Or I have to pay any donation which is not in my norm.?

we belong to sps salwan public school my and one of my friend's son is in salwan public school but 

we fail to get admission in this school this year for our daughters. we are trying from last year but still there is nothing happened. May be some of the schools discourge siblings

Its show the failure of entire system. I still remember my days when I went for admission in school and teacher asked me names of some toys kept their, She asked me to recite alphabets and some rhymus and I got admitted. And now I am working as software professional with an MNC. So why can't our child be admitted with these simple procedures? Only thing I will say that unnecessary and unwise Government's decisions make things more worst.

01st feb was terrible day for me as I had applied in 10 schools & my child didnt get selected in any school. Everywhere siblings, alumni, girl child got preference. Poor first boy child didnt get anything. All the schools I had applied are within the radius of 10 km max but neighbourhood criteria didnt work for my child. Even Venkateshwar Global Rohini branch is only 1 km far from my place but my child was not selected.

I am feeling helpless as we cannot afford donations, so our child would go to any school or not?

same with me , the only difference is i applied for 16 schools and got nothing....this is very disapointing

Well I am also of the opinion that the system made by the delhi govt has not worked in most of the cases as majority of schools have given very high marks to Alumni and Sibling in some cases if you add these two, it works out to 60%, which means in this years admission process may be we can say 90% of the students who would have got admission will be from the above two categories. So the basic purpose of the government has defeted.

In one case (Mt. Carmel) school has reserved seats for different categories - like General, Sibling, Alumni, Christian, Staff etc. and also they have kept 50% for boys and 50% for girls. I feel this model takes care of faults in the system followed by other schools. If all the schools follow above model then the child's luck will play the main role in getting the admission.

Well this was the first year with these changed norms so we should not expect to work 100%. Hopefully for next year govt must learn from this year and act to improve the system and that too well in time.

true...point system has been quite a disadvantage for many general category parents. This system is also a kind of giving preferential treatment to sme parents depending upon points comapared to others. To have it quite equal for everyone , the right system would have been going for draw among applied candidates. at least we could have blamed our luck in that case not this point system.

According to me, first come first serve should be the only methodology for admissions, if we have to actually follow the RTE. Anything else is profiling and biased!

The admission guidelines means that the children whose parents are not the product of a "public school" are the poor victims.

If my parents could not afford a public school for me, then Should it mean that my child also is not "socially eligible"

for a public school.

Sibling criteria can be accommodated keeping the practicality criteria of not sending children to two/three different schools.

BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO GIVE BIG POINTS TO ALUMNI,

HAVE THE PARENTS OF THOSE CHILDREN PAID EXTRA FEES TO SCHOOL IN THEIR TIME? OR

HAVE THEY CONTRIBUTED TO PRIME MINISTER'S RELIEF FUND BY STUDYING IN THAT SCHOOL.

In my opinion it is worthless to decide BIG points for alumni. Why does the DOE/Schools select discriminatory criteria?

WE ARE AGAINST ALUMNI POINT FROM DAY 1 .IT SHOULD  HAVE BEEEN BE REMOVED

I totally agree, and what about girl child point, transfer case.....in delhi have you seen parents not sending their girl child to school....i haven't then why this quota in Delhi.....
